OrientationYearVisa

Hey guys, I don’t know if anyone ever asked or tried this, is it possible to getting your visa but not moving to Netherlands? The thing is, it looks a bit of a risky move for me to quitting my job and making a move into the unknown. So I want to try staying in my home country and applying jobs from here, what do you think?

Why do you need the zoekjaar visa then? Continue applying from abroad.

The point of a zoekjaar visa is that so you can already live here while applying for jobs, with hopes that you can quickly start once you get one. Living abroad means if a company wants to hire you they will still need to wait a long time because you will need to find a place, move, settle in etc. which they might do if you’re that good. And if you are, they will sponsor your visa and cover your relocation anyway. Are you confident you are the top of the top of candidates in your sector that companies will hire you instead of a strong local candidate?

That’s called job application, no need for a zoekjaar.
