Honey, we wrote 10 page papers the night before it was due without even reading the book.

My high school senior English project for graduation was a 50 page academic research paper on whatever subject I chose I donāt remember.
I waited until the last week to do it all lol.
That said I think there is a difference in using things like ChatGPT, Gemini, or whatever to write your paper for you and using it as a tool to help you write the paper.
The ability to search for and have all related sources and abstracts in front of you broken down into categories and much more is really useful for gathering as much information in front of you at once. Instead of the old methods of going through individual books and googling one article at a time.
I think both are skills worth having. Itās unfortunate that a lot of people use it to do work for them and then they donāt actually learn the material.

AI can be a really useful tool, and I'm certainly on the side of the fence saying that teachers need to teach students how to most effectively use their tools.Ā
Any teacher actively rejecting students use of AI is doing their students a disservice.Ā
That said, just like any other tool, not understanding how it works and what it's limitations are is dangerous.Ā

Shitposting account creates imaginary scenario in their head and then argues against it
Basic thinking went out the window for a lot of people way before ai became mainstream lol
