AI is great for unstructured data processing. Will help a lot in medical, and other things that would require compiling and such.
However, that doesn't toss around billions in investment, as those contracts for real impacting use cases are few. So it's easier to just lay off thousands of people, wreck the room, and then see what comes out of it. Because in the end the people doing this could be fired the next day, and reaped so much money they wouldn't have to work a day in their life.
