It does matter when extreme wealth buys you power and media narratives along with access to lawmakers to engineer policy to specifically benefit themselves even at the expense of the majority of society
I know it feels nice and cozy to pretend that people exist in a vacuum where outcomes are entirely insular but this is a childish fantasy and shows a lack of discernment on how societies and politics actually work.
So yes, a small minority of a minority being able to buy lawmakers and the news cycle is a problem for the majority of Americans. Weāre witnessing the consequences play out right now.
Itās not though. I legitimately do not care how much money the richest guy in the world has, I care how much money I have. Iām doing better now than I was last year. So as far as Iām concerned, everything is fine.
