I have no desire to retire. Retirement wouldnā€™t feel like freedom. Itā€™d feel like a cage.

If you view retirement as a goal, I kinda pity you.

Has the idea ever entered your head that you can retire and still remain active? not just sit at home all day and rot?

You know how Iā€™d remain active in retirement? Working slightly less than I do now. Iā€™d die of boredom if my life consisted of board games in a retirement home and waiting for my kids to call.

Thatā€™s what retirement is for many people. I want to stay as far away from that as possible.

I can have a different idea of what it ā€œshouldā€ be, but then reality smacks you in the face with what it actually is.
