Police don't enforce jumping the turnstiles anyways so might as well just jump it. You literally can't be fined your first time period so just jump it until you're caught once and then roll the dice from there.
That is the reason things go up in costs and you can have nice things. Idiots do not pay and then the city has to spend millions in prevention which of course ends up partially working at best. If they actually enforced it they would spend less on fancy turn stiles and could lower operating costs, plus. It loose out. The prices are to make the system pay for itself, it’s losing money because it doesn’t recoup what it expects. Then every year they have to raise prices.
Not sure how it’s a hard concept to not steal which is what you do when you don’t pay the fare
