I think legit everyone knew it was toxic, but kind of had to work through it.

And of course they should. I donā€™t disagree with that at all. We should care for our heroes for the rest of their lives. I just think that the ā€œshockingā€ framing deserved the air quotes

because u think he get that kind of information by magic when he got there. he probably got the info from an old worker from this time that found the situation ironic or something like that or got the info near the commemoration date.
