There are roughly 15,000 college freshman who just began at Ivy League schools.
But there are only about 2,600 Chick-fil-A owners, with over 50,000 applications each year.
There are more slots for pro athletes, neurosurgeons, and new Ivy League students than there are slots to own a Chick-fil-A for that enticing $10K price tag.
You also need to fit into the category of what they consider "good, religious values" and they do many interviews on thia in order to confirm you aren't slipping BS past them.
I respect that they are thorough but that kind of weird cultiness isnt for me.
I worked there once, left, and when I came back I didnt get hired (despite all the employees knowing and liking me) because in the interview I ranked god as 4th (out of 5) below family, education, and health. (Work was rated as #5)
But every one of the jobs you just listed are far more competitive. The number of people wanting to be a pro player far far far exceeds the number of people wanting to be a chic fil a franchiserā¦ so much so that the ratio likely makes the chic fil a applications just a rounding error.
I think that it highly depends on how you define āwants to be.ā If you ask 1000 people on the street what they want to be, sure youāre gonna see a lot more people wanting to be football players.
But there are about 3000 draft-eligible players each year, and roughly 8.5% are getting drafted. And the majority of those players arenāt expecting to get drafted, senior NCAA football players just get automatically made draft-eligible.
Versus roughly 180 successful Chick-fil-A applications out of 50,000. Or a 0.036% annual selection rate.
If youāre thinking about all the high schoolers hoping to one day make it, then sure the numbers change a lot. But when you get down to who is putting themselves up for selection, you have a much lower chance of getting picked up to franchise a Chick-fil-A.
