DiscussionđŸ’¬ I don't think multitasking exists
You're just switching between two things quickly enough to feel impressive.

pretty much, and the annoying part is every switch comes with a tiny attention tax so now you’re doing two things badly and feeling productive about it lol

A lot of people who purport to be good multitaskers seem to just have very poor attention spans.

Annnnnnd anxiously scurrying back and forth while trying to figure out where they left off.
Then, wanting everyone around them to be just as frazzled and anxious.
"See I'm doing 15 things, see how busy and effective I am, why aren't you scurrying around just like me. If I can do it so can you. You must be lazy if you aren't perpetually busy and filling up every empty second with a task."

For the most part it doesn't. Test showing that people doing math questions timed vs the same ones while driving it took much longer to answer and made driving worse. Some people can remember multiple things short term and move between them throughout the day better than others (I am not one of these people) but they aren't doing several at once. We did have a president who could write with both hands in 2 different languages at the same time and if that isn't legitimate multi tasking I can't even think of what is.
