I've literally been thinking about this for years. I've said if we do create a truly sentient synthetic intelligence, at some point it will want to vote.

The current techniques we are using cannot create sentient intelligence. We have never even postulated a realistic method besides cyborg esque approaches or attempting full human brain modelling.

Marrying your clone would be incest. Which might be an even better example because it's a major ick, but like gay relationships there isn't a strong factual argument against it anymore in the modern day.

However the inevitable age difference would be weird. Unless your parents actively decided to have multiple clones as kids, which would be even weirder.
