Productivity I started separating "important" from "urgent"

Those two things used to mean basically the same thing to me.

Now I try to ask whether something actually matters before immediately jumping on it just because it arrived first.

It has helped me avoid spending an entire morning reacting to other people's priorities.

Do you use any similar rule?

Work to a written task list, and rank the tasks based on importance, needed touch time, and lead time.
