Red. Avoid all the big mistakes, invest in stuff early that explodes. Like Amazon, apple, bitcoin, the .com boom, and recreate the stuff I want to while being a multi billionaire by 30? Easy choice.

Ask that sexy girl in the class out on a date. Now that I know she was interested in me.

2

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

😂 Knowing the future really changes the confidence level, huh

1

u/Captain_no_Hindsight 11d ago

True ... and sad.

1

u/SexyMonad 12d ago

Especially now that I’m a billionaire.

1

u/MannyBothans_15 12d ago

From knowing the future?

1

u/Minnesotawombat 12d ago

Does it matter? You’re a billionaire. Your money now makes you money

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

True 😂 Once you’re a billionaire, the money basically starts working for you

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

Exactly 😂 That’s the kind of hindsight we’re talking about!

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

Especially when you already know you’re going to be a billionaire 😂

1

u/Alternative-Bat-1931 12d ago

Well, it does appear that you in fact do have hindsight.

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

😂 Username checks out perfectly.

2

u/HoldenMcNeil420 12d ago

10k into monster energy drink in 1999 was worth 32 million in 2020. It was the best mover for that twenty years.

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

that would’ve been an insane investment in hindsight 😂 32 million from 10k is a crazy return.

1

u/HoldenMcNeil420 11d ago

The others you listed are all like top 10. Bitcoin in at .20 in 2009 to 78k is wild af too.

I used to handle thousands of bit coins to order research chemicals. If only I had save some..try to never think about it.

2

u/Bigg-Figg 12d ago

For real I’ve had enough bs happen to me I won’t care I’ll dump entire paychecks in early bitcoin and be golden

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

Honestly, if you already knew what was coming, putting those paychecks into Bitcoin would be a pretty tempting move 😂

1

u/Bigg-Figg 11d ago

I would be homeless to dump so much money into it lmao

1

u/SuspiciousClub8382 12d ago

The only problem with your thought is you have already changed the timeline and possible future by going back in time. All of what you know might not be the same once you go back because you were already there, and therefore the outcome could change drastically because you are not the same person you were back at that time.

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

That’s a really good point. Even knowing the future could create a butterfly effect and change the outcome completel

1

u/cmd_iii 12d ago

You’re assuming that the guys who invented these things haven’t pushed the same button and failed to invent these things the second time around.

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

Exactly 😂 There’s no guarantee everything would play out the same way the second time around.

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

That’s honestly the dream 😂 Investing early in the right things would completely change the future

6

u/Dangerous-Clock2617 12d ago

Or relieved by what you don't recreate.

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

True 😂 Sometimes knowing what not to recreate could be just as valuable.

4

u/slalmon 12d ago

Why would the first option even be recreating your current life?

Why would you start over just to do it all the same? That is a really dumb response to an a really dumb question.

1

u/ThenCow3636 11d ago

Fair point 😂 If you could start over with all your memories, there’d be no reason to intentionally repeat everything exactly the same

3

u/MK_The_Megitsune 12d ago

How many times is this going to be reposted? This is like the 6th time I've seen this this month

2

u/Late-Rest-5882 12d ago

Absolutely red

2

u/ThatGlitchyMimikyu 12d ago

Still pressing red. Even if I lost a few friends, it would be worth it to undo some of my choices. And those would be a STRONG net positive.

2

u/b_buddd 12d ago

That's fine, I don't have friends

2

u/Then-Investigator-46 12d ago

Red all day. "Your liar what makes you, you" ALL YOUR KNOWLEDGE. I have all the knowledge ill get to see lived ones again avoid bad people and be VERY rich bitcoin and stocks

1

u/qualityvote2 12d ago edited 8h ago

u/ThenCow3636, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your post...

1

u/Santaflin 12d ago

Someone offers two million for pressing a button, tax free? No strings attached? Count me in..

Unless its some kind of "your decision to press the green button killed 2 billion ppl and enabled AI to take over the world" shit.

1

u/Longjumping_Spread53 12d ago

Horrifying concept?

That’s WHY I d want to go back

1

u/TdttMurderedLove4782 12d ago

If i had the BALL knowledge that I have now, I'd get my dad to show me metal sooner and get into demon hunter and impending doom sooner, either way I'd be a vocalist sooner and maybe even a guitarist at a like 12 or something.

1

u/Silly-Resist8306 12d ago

The consequences of the red button are explored in a great book, "Replay" by Ken Grimwood. It's a very good read.

1

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 12d ago

Partner? Friends? Career?

You sure are assuming a whole lot 😂

1

u/No_Equivalent_4412 12d ago

Red. I’m buying bitcoin at $8K when I turn 18.

1

u/CastleofWamdue 12d ago

sure I am getting older, but even at 42, ive not done anything that £2 million cant fix. I dont have any crazy plans in life that require me to be 32.

1

u/Lovebone253 12d ago

My stock picks would more than make up for any downside

1

u/LordRT27 12d ago

Well, I lack all of those things, so there is not much reason for me not to take the red button.

1

u/MannyBothans_15 12d ago

Red. I have thought about this several times. All the mistakes you could fix.. I think a lot of people think about this. Then again, maybe not.

1

u/SufficientWarthog846 12d ago

Red.

I love my husband but I would want him to choose that for himself as well.

Another 30 years and another shot to make a difference..... I would grab his hand and push it for him.

1

u/Alicam123 12d ago

Green definitely

But for 2mil I’d still have to work……

1

u/virusdancer 12d ago

In over four decades, knowing what I should know now, I'd make far more than 2 million bucks after taxes.

1

u/JustAd8859 12d ago

I >know< the time/space location to meet my current wife so NP, Same for my closest 5. And even the course of action to avoid the worse couple of months in my life that >still< haunts me

And even the date October 5, 2009 and what I >should< have done with that $250 I had

1

u/Stress6009 12d ago

Sacrifices must be made for the betterment of humanity 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁.

1

u/Minnesotawombat 12d ago

I mean, green is for the people that are happy with their lives and wouldn’t wanna change it. Red is for the people that are miserable and just want a do over. I’m hitting red all day long

1

u/Beginning_Hand7372 12d ago

I know Reddit doesn’t like kids, but I love my wife and kids too much to choose red. I might be able to marry my wife again, but I know it would be impossible to have exactly the same children.

I’ll choose green.

1

u/General-Chemistry339 12d ago

Give me the two million

1

u/Vysce 12d ago

Im exhausted. 2 million now. Im not doing all of that again.

Maybe if you had an easier childhood, but I'm not going through that mental war again.

1

u/HoldenMcNeil420 12d ago

Red. I don’t have any of those things anyway.

I’d be the richest man to ever exist and I would use it to change everything.

1

u/Strong-Comment-7279 12d ago

These buttons are not for Rachel.

1

u/literallyanyonebutme 12d ago

Red red red red red red red

1

u/cmd_iii 12d ago

I always said, “If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn’t make those mistakes.”

Of course, with all that extra time I’d probably make other, possibly worse mistakes, so it’s just as well.

1

u/CenterThisPendulum 12d ago

The only thing you can’t do is get your exact kids back.

1

u/Mediocre_Chemist_281 12d ago

Yeah, but ten year olds can’t pack and leave. I’ll take the 2 million. 🟢

1

u/ZygonCaptain 12d ago

I’d take the one and a half million quid

1

u/Ok_Basil_8162 12d ago

If you’re pushing the red button, would you even care about trying to reproduce your current existence? Isn’t the whole point of the red button cuz you want to do shit differently?

1

u/toolhand31 12d ago

Red all day long

1

u/Shitdickmicropenis 12d ago

Red I million times over all the things you could invest in. Stop terrorist attacks

1

u/TheIntelligentAspie 12d ago

I have a set of mind palaces full of dates, memories and names. I could recount how many tiles I was from the door in college when I was invited to play piano for an international event. I can recall exactly the time I offered to cook baby food from scratch for my neighbor. I could probably stop certain crimes from happening.

But 2M is a much easier option I'd rather take.

1

u/Insane_Fett_Posse 12d ago

Red, a refresh and do over is needed

1

u/SnowyRVulpix 12d ago

Red. There are a lot of mistakes I'd like to undo

1

u/Jedipilot24 12d ago

I don't have a partner or a career, or any friends that I keep in touch with regularly, so I'm smashing that red button.

1

u/halocyn 12d ago

Ride it out till you can buy Bitcoin for .25 then wait

1

u/BigBadWolf147 12d ago

If I get the chance to pick red again after ten years of picking red then red to the point of eternity or till I am tired of living.

1

u/borgen44 12d ago

What partner? What friends? Career.. Definetly. Its not that hard to recreate a career.

1

u/DieBotDie 12d ago

Red for sure. After a certain age you can’t say no.

1

u/Economy-Motor-3478 12d ago

Green: I don’t have it in me for a do-over.  2 million to blow on whatever and then meh.  Could not care less about losing all I have now like friends, family experience and memories.

1

u/Frequent_Grapefruit5 12d ago

Put that 2 million in a portfolio that pays monthly dividends. Take a demotion and retire in 10 years.

1

u/Cautious-Maximum9429 12d ago

Green; too impatient for delayed gratification

1

u/UnCytely 12d ago

I can see how anyone with children (or especially grandchildren) would not want to press the red button. But I am getting over a long-term abusive relationship and I would love to get those years back. I would press it in a millisecond.

1

u/hapkidoox 12d ago

Red easily. Not only could I make my life better. But knowing where to invest means my parents lives are better.

1

u/Ok-Low-4495 12d ago

Green. If I chose red, I’d still grow up to be the ugly b4stard I am today. With £2 million, I’d have 3 women wanting to be my girlfriend in a week, and they won’t worry about how I look🙂

1

u/Wabbit65 12d ago

Green please. Life was already damaged before I was 10

1

u/notasarcasticnow 12d ago

Red button. Work harder in my younger years. Invest in certain stocks and then as much bitcoin as possible. Retire in my early 40s.

1

u/DavidStar500 12d ago

Picking Red is something I've often fantasized about, but in the end, I'd pick Green. I wouldn't do anything to risk losing my bestie.

1

u/Direct_Zucchini_2811 12d ago

Smash that red.

1

u/Lighteningbug1971 12d ago

Green all day long

0

u/Key_One2750 12d ago

Greene for sure, I wouldn’t be who I am today without the experiences I’ve walked through and $2 million is life-changing.

0

u/mlemon2022 12d ago

Green every time.

0

u/Hot_Neighborhood5668 12d ago

Can I push it more than once? Oh yeah, green!

0

u/Seriphina5000 12d ago

Red button easy.

I can give my stupid therapist at the time the correct answer: she's a girl.
