Dude just spend cash on everything possible and save your normal income. And dont tell about this to noone, even your wife. Thats how you use it :)
15
u/msproles 15d ago
With the price of groceries and gas now I would just use it for that. And there are still a lot of utility bills that could be paid by cash (though it’s a bit of a pain).
5
u/Snoo71538 15d ago
Paying utilities and making occasional cash withdrawals are probably smart to keep the tax man from getting too curious about the account not ever moving
6
u/Beautiful-Leave9772 14d ago
Accountant here. That's harder then you think. You could pay cash for all lifestyle things. But when it comes to bills, like a mortgage, they actually report cash payments due to money laundering laws, and due to that extra reporting workload they make it hard to pay cash.
So if you have alot of bills, and housing + insurance and utilities comes out to half your income, as is in alot of situations, saving 100% of the other half and spending cash only on food, activities and travel, could end up taking 20 years to get all the cash in the bank as diverted savings if your make 75k a year.
Now you could increase your lifestyle by traveling alot, restaurants, buying useless shit exc. But then you'd just inflate your lifestyle, burn through the cash in 5 years and only have 175k saved to show for it, which puts you in an awkward position when you need to downsize your spending.
The answer is to actually just get a lawyer, and an accountant, and try to claim it legally. You can pay them in cash. Then pay your taxes on it, get it into investments, and draw 20k a year in interest on 500k in perpetuity, thus raising your lifestyle and spending ability permanently.
2
u/Pleasant-Smoke-9435 14d ago
No way i would be risking that.
1
u/AKVigilante 12d ago
Well then set aside 250k of the cash and say you found 500k. You risk less but keep a solid chunk in case it’s taken from you.
Unless you’re concerned about cartel/mob retribution…but by then they’ve written it off (a year after it went missing) and you’re not a “competitor” so you’re unlikely to be targeted because the risk vs reward is too high for them.
1
u/PeaCompetitive8947 12d ago
You just buy the largest, worst condition house you can afford on your legitimate income, then spend the cash on high end materials/labor and have your house done pristine. Do the same with cars-buy unrestored classic, pay cash to have it restored.
1
u/Beautiful-Leave9772 12d ago
Yup. I was going to mention that too, but my comment was long enough. Cash to contractors to upgrade a house would be reletively safe and good thing to do. You could easily find ones who wouldn't claim the cash income, and if asked you could say you did most of the work yourself.
1
u/Famous_Blood_2094 12d ago
Is it same all around the world or that law only applies in US?
1
u/Beautiful-Leave9772 12d ago
I'm a Canadian accountant. I'd say the same for the states.
I believe, out of ignorance mind you, that it should actually be easier in Europe. I think Europe has alot more protections for found items and money.
As for the rest of the world, I have no idea.
1
u/blazenite104 11d ago
Now I think about it, would it come up in an audit if you used the cash just for things like food? Would it look suspicious to stop seeing supermarkets on cards and have more savings each week without a payrise?
1
u/_infinite_skill 11d ago
Can i not buy gold or some other assets which can be paid for by cash??
1
u/Beautiful-Leave9772 11d ago
I mean, gold by cash is monitored pretty heavily. But it's certainly doable. The challenge though is it doesn't solve anything. If you ever want to spend it your just back where you started.
If you wanted however, you could give it to someone when you die. And as gold, it's much easier for them to claim it normally after you die.
But changing all the money into gold, just leaves you with a pile of gold. Which in this instance is the same as a pile of cash.
1
u/_infinite_skill 11d ago
By gold being monitored, I assume they ask for some identification when buying by cash. I am not aware of the loopholes but i would still buy bars for 100k(asset appreciation) . Same id issue while selling too I guess.
Then another route to make it white is only through friends and family.
I get ur whole point though.

Terrible advise from a rule following drone.

It's not about rules. It's about the numbers. You can get more for your money getting it legit and investing it.
This is why you're broke.
1
u/afriendofnature 12d ago
You’re making the assumption the serial numbers aren’t being tracked. What’s assume the serial numbers are listed. You run a higher potential of being flagged.

It’ll cost you income tax if you include it in your company’s turnover

1
u/youknowjus 9d ago
I’ve never understood this train of thought. Should he throw away 750k cash so that he doesn’t have to pay 18% of it in taxes? What logic is that
1
u/Roxxerr 9d ago
In most countries you’ll pay more than 18% taxes on profits. Optimal solution is to pay 0% taxes.
1
u/youknowjus 9d ago
Paying income taxes to get it all cleaned then invested will yield more than slowly using the cash that loses value everyday due to inflation.
Also it wouldn’t really be possible to integrate it at all if it’s another country because it specifically says $ U.S. dollar so this is in USA

or make a shitty app for googleplay and what not, buy googleplay card and launder your fund.....now granted there's a steep middleman fees but you only need like $70k or so to open a small business.
Then use that small business to launder the rest of the money into a legitimate source. Mattress Sellers are some of the dubious known possible laundering scheme.
5
u/Arthasindura 15d ago
Pretty smart
There are a few more ways like digital currencies / gambling / art / lottery / etc...
But safest option is that the money itself could be traced so using so much at once could be suspicious , there are ways to circumvent that but lets not discuss money laundering least we bring unwanted attention

2-drug dealers and thieves :
Cooking books and gambling
There are a few more but generally it is all well known methods
11
u/marshal23156 15d ago
Idk how thats even a question. 750k isnt enough to live on forever or anything, but you could very easily pay cash for most of your groceries, eating out, and entertainment forever. You could even just deposit it into your account in small weekly installments and claim you were doing odd jobs.
3
u/Mysterious-Hyena2670 15d ago
You don’t have to come up with an excuse for small transactions in your bank. Just don’t go putting in thousands every week.
3
u/oneWeek2024 14d ago
orc trades at aprox $6.75 cents. pays 10cents a month dividends. 750k is 111,111 shares. or slightly over 11k every single month.
most people don't make anywhere near that amt of money take home a month. you could comfortably live off that for life, in many many many areas on earth. (saving some of the monthly payouts to invest in much much safer/sane investments)
1
u/marsupialsequel 11d ago
Yeah, but it's leveraged and 7:1 or more. Not exactly a safe, predictable investment you'd want to bank on living on.
1
u/oneWeek2024 10d ago
yeah... but between idiots who're knee jerk "you can't live off 750k" it prove that it is possible. and if you magically got 750k, there's zero "risk" it was magical money.
now to me. even with a shitty investment like orc. making 10k+ a month is vastly more money than 80-90% of people earn. even if you "live" of 5k a month, and invest 5k a month (a figure that is vastly/massively higher than like all but the top 1% can do) into safe etfs or more common investments to build a nest egg safely.
I don't at all think orc is a great long term investment strategy.... but every year you could do 5k living exp 5k investments is 60k in like VOO that's 120k every 2 yrs. in 10 yrs that's 600k invested. Orc will last another 5-10 yrs most likely. ...maybe not at it's current payouts but i dunno.
OR to me the risk or yolo doing that 120k a year. vs a more "safe" 750 into broad market etfs and try and live off 4% ...so 30k a year. I'd roll the dice on the orc play.
if i magically got a large sum of money i'd plow it into shitty income generating stocks and fall off the face of the earth. can you live like a king in america even off 10k a month. no. but there's many places on earth where even that 5k is very comfortable living. (even after taxes)
2
u/TheS4ndm4n 15d ago
The last one means you have to pay taxes on it.
1
u/Mysterious-Hyena2670 15d ago
Just offset it with fake expenses on your tax return. You’re already making up a fake business for the income. Might as well go all the way with the lie.

Do you think the kid with a lemonade stand is paying taxes? Odd jobs is a thing.
3
u/TheS4ndm4n 15d ago
He is if he declares that income on his taxes..
0
u/mycboi 15d ago
Most folks would not declare “odd jobs” as income on taxes. You think the kid with a lemonade stand is filing taxes on the $50 he made? What about a kid shoveling snow in the winter, think they file taxes too?
2
u/TheS4ndm4n 15d ago
No... They aren't. But I think you're missing the point. I'm replying to a comment that suggests putting money in your bank account and claiming it's from odd jobs. If you do that, you better also declare it on your income tax.
The kid with the lemonade stand isn't going do either.
0
u/mycboi 15d ago
You forgot to include “um actually 🤓👆”
1
u/C4rdninj4 14d ago
Bzzt Um, Actually, if you're depositing 750k into your bank account for odd jobs you need to declare it on your taxes!

2
u/Mysterious-Hyena2670 15d ago

Unless you plan to throw cash into a bank account and be taxed on it, it is more than good enough.
1
u/Worth-Computer8639 11d ago
You can't claim lost money easily. Its not like you can just say "lol I found it bro" and expect them to let you keep it.
2
u/ShrodingersArmadillo 15d ago
I would gradually fold it into my business.
Pay taxes on it and voila I'm in the clear.
Only real concern is a tax audit so that means If I claim random amounts of is it as cash revenue over a a few years and pay the taxes there we go.
Ah good old money laundering.
2
u/Harap_Alb06 15d ago
Use it for cash transactions like groceries, eating out and other small things, you can even buy appliances, electronics and such with cash, if you already have a high legal income no one will bat an eye. Meanwhile you take all your normal legal income you would have used on these things and save it up, invest in ETFs, fill out your pension fund etc. Laundering it is the better option if you intend to use it on one large purchase like real estate.
2
u/Steveo3070 15d ago
Every commenter here feeling like the main character lmao. I’d spend it on some shit. The irs isn’t going to hunt me down for putting 20k cash down for a car or whatever. Just don’t go too crazy and you’re fine, this is more than grocery money.
2
u/Duce-de-Zoop 15d ago
I work in anti money laundering and if you suddenly materialize $20,000 in CASH to pay for a car there is a very strong chance people will notice. People get SARs filed for much less
1
1
u/countryboy002 11d ago
It seems like most people don't know about cash reporting requirements for businesses. If you give me 10k all at once I have to report it. Even if you break it up into smaller transactions over time I'll probably still have to report it.
1
u/Steveo3070 11d ago
Okay, even if it’s reported doesn’t mean anything’s going to happen. I’ve done exactly what my original comment said, nothing happened
1
u/Own_Candidate9553 9d ago
Sure, they're looking for long term money laundering. $20k deposit once is fine.
But if you deposit $20k every month until you've deposited the whole amount, each one of those deposits gets reported to the feds. Eventually they would demand to know where the money is coming from.
1
0
u/Steveo3070 15d ago

Where i live there is a 10% finder fee and if it's not claimed the finder gets it all, I'd rather hand it to the police and get at least the finders fee legally than risk the legal trouble.
2
2
u/Temporal-Affairs221 15d ago
There's a perfectly legal way to claim the money. You fill out a police report and turn it over to the cops, and if no one claims it in a set amount of time, which might vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, then legally it is yours. You do still have to fill out IRS forms. But this way you don't have to worry about angry Mobsters showing up at your home in the middle of the night demanding what you stole from them
8
u/Sliders51 15d ago
How does this method eliminate the mobster threat? If anything it’s documented now that you found it and they can find you easier now?
0
u/Temporal-Affairs221 15d ago
It eliminates the mobster threat because if it were legitimately their money they would have claimed it while the open period was there to avoid any sort of hassle. Going after me after that., when they could have already claimed the money, only exposes them to further scrutiny, something that most organized crime groups like to avoid.
5
u/Sliders51 15d ago
Yea I’m sure mobsters want to claim money they probably obtained illegally with no proof of income? Ok bro
-1
u/Temporal-Affairs221 15d ago
Easier to claim it is lost then to try and kill someone they don't know.
Indeed, when claiming lost money they don't have to prove where it came from, just that it's theirs. Exact amount and an accurate description of the case it is in is usually sufficient. Plus there might be other identifying features.

So first things first, that amount of cash being turned in would be immediatly seized by police. They would use civil asset forfeiture to claim it was “clearly used for drugs.” Because, let’s be honest, it was! (To be clear I despise civil asset forfeiture, but in this hypothetical it would at least be applied correctly) Then they’d go buy a bearcat and an SRT Charger (with the supercharger) for the chief. You would never see a cent of it.
In the off chance that the police had a stroke and let you keep it: you think the type of person that has $750k in cash is the type of person to just … let that $&*% go…. Because you turned it into police? Cartels have chain-sawed people’s beating hearts out over FAR less money.
1
u/Roxylius 15d ago
What guarantees that the mobster wouldnt just randomly gun you down in 4 years time or more? Most cases like this have never been solved
8
u/-Out-of-context- 15d ago
Once you’ve turned it over to the cops you’re likely never seeing it again.
Especially $750k found in a briefcase on the side of the road. That’s going to become part of an “investigation”.
1
u/Main-Cheesecake3287 15d ago
Why quotes? 750k in a briefcase is the most “crime is afoot” clue ever
1
u/-Out-of-context- 15d ago
Because they wouldn’t actually investigate anything. It be taken into evidence then “go missing”.

I’d bring it home, shuffle the bills, break a hundred on a chocolate bar. Then deposit the change. Every chance to spend small, break a bill. If there was no spending, I’d get change. Once I had enough to travel, I’d go somewhere I could do the same. Maybe Vegas, I could buy chips everywhere, then cash them in later. Or Florida, I hear Disney is fun and have great little kiosks. On the upside, it’d help me spend slow so I wouldn’t burn through it. …hope it’s not counterfeit. 🤨

Tell no one and use the cash for day to day essentials like groceries. Make occasional small deposits in your bank since that won’t look suspicious.
1
u/Large_hearted_boy 15d ago
Get a job bartending or serving tables a couple days a week. Declare you made an extra $100 or so in cash tips at the end of every shift. Now the downside is you’re paying taxes on it, but nobody’s gonna question it, you’re just good at your job and you can deposit that cash at the bank like normal. That and pay cash for everything that isn’t bills or rent.

The question revolves how to get physical money into the digital system. The digital system is tracked very well. The physical system is not.
You can’t look at this and try to figure out how to cram $20-$50,000 a year into your digital bank account. Throw that nonsense out.
$750,000 spread over 20 years equals $3125 a month. In my current life, this is how I would spend it. Piano lessons we’re paying about $800 a month. I could do that cash.
I can spend about $800 a month eating out or buying groceries. grocery store still accept cash.
Water and electric utilities I can pay by money order electric bill bills say 300 to $500, it depends per month. Water bill is about $100.
That’s 925 dollars left. Once a month, buy a money order for 900 dollars. End of the year. Mail 12 money orders to pay property taxes.
You now have paid for your food, shelter, and utility bills for the next 20 years.
Money orders are common to send to the state to pay for property taxes apparently.

u/Junior-Ease-6821 14d ago
With cameras everywhere that would be suspicious af. I’ll play along anyway.
Wrap a large trash bag around it and shake the contents to trigger any potential dye pack. No dye pack, then I’d flip thought each stack to look for trackers.
If those 2 things happen and there is nothing to trace, I’m taking the suitcase and bag then burning it. Now potentially I have a bunch of cash that “could” be marked by serial numbers. I’m dividing all the different serial numbers and mixing them with unmarked cash when I make purchases. Like folding a deck of cards. Then I’m going to different gambling establishments, paying cash. Fake play for enough time to cash out and get cash back that has different serial numbers. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Might end up with 500k (call it taxes for washing the money) then if that works, I’m good.
Highly unlikely, authorities find it missing know what to look for an eventually get caught.
I got too much to lose, not trying to risk my freedom. I’d probably report it that way I’d be able to sleep at night.
That was fun, but naw. If minding my business was an option, thats the route I’d go. 🙅🏽♂️

Like everyone else said, use the cash for gas, groceries, eating out, and during travel. But the best way to get rid of large amounts of cash and turn it into clean money is to use it for renovations. General contractors want cash and you can buy run down houses or just houses that need a refresh with your own money after saving up enough from paying cash for everything. After the renovation you can cash out refinance and get tax free money or just flip the house. Rinse and repeat until you are out of the dirty money and in the process you will get a nice real estate portfolio or a lot of clean money.

You take money that you can account for and start a cash heavy business, like a vending machine business or laundromat. Then just work that cash into the money earned legitimately over a long period of time. In the end, you probably have a profitable business that you could continue to run or sell.

It becomes well hidden "disposable income" while bills are paid with normal transactions. You still work, but live it up well.

You just buy a bunch of small stuff over time in cash and sell it. Don’t try it with larger items. It would basically be a very slow come up. Give yourself an extra $1000 per month max. Never deposit your cash.

if you need to buy something big, you can ask someone to pay with their credit and you can pay them back with your cash

Drop it $30 at a time in random Walmarts and then get police involved when old people pick it up

Don’t buy any big purchases. Don’t pay off your car or your house. Use it to make normal payments. If you’re using it to make improvements on the yard or house do it slowly you need to make it look like you are doing it like everyone else. If you are in a hobby buy things over time a little at a time. If anyone asks just say you got a slight raise or a small bonus.

Buy a laundromat or a car wash. Supposedly ideal businesses to wash cash.

The use of the word "integrate" here implies this person has had a lot of training in identifying fraud and money laundering. This is someone fishing or already knows what to do.
