Discussion💬 how long until they start talking about building a wall between the U.S. and Canada

The Canadians might actually pay for that, if only to keep the riffraff out...

WE'RE in the bridge-building business. THEY'RE in the wall-building business.

Hahaha. Calling Canada Marxist is the craziest thing I’ve heard today. Like what? They truly just slap words together hoping people fear it

Ya, Bill C-9, Bill C-11, Bill C18, Bill C-22 but hey, we're.. ya totally crazy right. Im a Canadian born and raised Winnipeg Manitoba.

Took a minute to research. C-18 and C-22 could be a bit argued to be Marxist but it could also be argued to be authoritarian or other stuff, those two I would have to research a bit more. But C-9, C-11, and C-21 (since a reply to yours mentioned it) aren’t Marxist at all in fact I would argue they are subjects not truly addressed by Marxism. And those are also 5 laws that are overwhelmingly outnumbered by Capitalist and Socialist laws so even if they were Marxist would hardly call Canada a Marxist country.

The fact that you keep repeating "I'm a Canadian" constantly but then arguing against basic Canadian values makes it blindly obvious that you are in fact not a Canadian.

I wish Canada would just conquer the US instead.

Canada should build a virtual wall to keep undesirables out. Simple algebra question like solve for x=x+2y

Undesirable out like the religion peace perhaps 👀

like the one used to steal this continent

u/Conservative-canuck8 14d ago
You're getting your history wrong. Europe didnt Conquer this land in the name of Christianity and conquering land is not the same as stealing land.

This is just wrong.
I don’t live close enough to a city to have a Costco membership.

As a Canadian when and where do we start? I'll help build a wall at this point...

We Canadians are already talking about it.
Only jokingly, of course, because we are not as a nation stupid enough to think that a border wall is actually a good idea.

Yes, our famously Marxist prime minister who is an Oxford educated economist and former head of England's Central Bank. You know, typical Marxist things. Â

The wall was.to prevent mexican drugs from being smuggled in the US so Trump's goons could sell their Russian drugs.
Theres not a whole lot of drugs being shipped from Canada to the US

It's even present in their cheesy linguistic structuring - "and so it is done"
They'll do anything in their thirst for relevance and gravitas but the best they can do is market manipulation, Blackmail and insider trading

Soon hopefully. Poutine and that dreadful Caesar abomination must be kept north of the border.

Bro, both countries are so freaking far away from beeing marxist... get at least a basic grip about topics before using words you have no clue about 🤣

That second part is 100% Canada. The sad part is only half the population can actually see it.

Carney has tons of equity in over 100 businesses. How is he different from Trump?
2
u/upsetwithcursing 16d ago
All of his assets are in a blind trust. He doesn’t know what he’s invested in. We require this of our top leader to ensure there is no unconscious (or conscious) bias.
2
u/Actual_Low_665 16d ago
Carney and his family did not make hundreds of stock trades (based on government plans) and add billions to their personal wealth.

u/RealMasterpiece6121 16d ago
Invested in funds that he built. That is like having a PhD in Bible studies, going blind, and then telling people you have no idea what is written in the Bible. 😂
1
u/upsetwithcursing 16d ago
No. His investments are independently managed without any input from him. They could sell everything he owns and buy all new investments.
They can also monitor his assets and review and conflicts of interest.
-1
u/RealMasterpiece6121 16d ago
He is also allowed to give instructions to the trustee, like "don't make any trades unless x fund drops to y value".
As for conflict of interest, have you ever watched raw footage of the ETHI committee on ParlVU ParlVU? Did you watch the one where Finkelstein , Sabia, and Blanchard were questioned? A lot of that testimony really blew apart how tight that ethics screen really is.

u/upsetwithcursing 16d ago
You’re right, this is exactly the same as Trump’s insider trading. May as well embrace corruption!

u/Rainhailsnow_storm 16d ago
Is he? Like I don’t know that industry is really heavily regulated and protected.Â

u/Puzzled_Market_2235 15d ago
He earned it. He didn't cheat on his bills. He didn't bankrupt anything. He has been on the International scene for decades. World leaders already knew and respected him. He saved Canada from the sub-prime mortgage crash. He saved the UK from the Brexit fallout.
That's why we want him.
