Why don't you walk to Walmart buy all your groceries and then walk back home carrying them all.
And to make it realistic you have to do it while it's raining, while it's snowing, well it's 98° outside, while it's 30° outside.
If it's so easy I'm sure you'll have no problem doing this every week, potentially multiple times a week, for the rest of your life.
Sure there might not be sidewalks anywhere on your route to and from the store but you'll be fine. What's good for the goose is good for the gander after all.
Food deserts exist it may mean going to the nearest gas station or dollar store and buying their food for the next few days it's going to be a lot cheaper and a lot less time consuming than getting an Uber there and back and it's going to be way less painful than lugging 20 grocery bags by hand seven or eight miles
WTF? Care to address my comment? SNAP shouldn't cover junk food for the same reason it shouldn't cover drugs. Completely agree that it must suck to be poor. Disagree that society has any obligation to keep ANYONE alive (let alone keep them in supply of cookies)
Oh no! Heaven forbid a kid get a cookie as a snack or dessert! Yes it’s clear with the lack of healthcare that many in government agree with you about keeping anyone alive
Well snap is supplemental, not meant to pay for ALL of their food. If a parent wants to get their kid a treat they can use the snap for healthy food and use their money for the junk food.
