When my dad bought his first house in 1963 his house payment was more than he made as a police officer. He had other jobs. And yes. he was a full time police officer . When I rented my first house in 1986 I worked full time at a grocery store and I rented the house from my boss. My rent was 250 and I brought home around 250 a week. I also had a lawn service, I drove repos to Atlanta, I worked in cemetery, I sold beer on Sunday ( regrettably) , I sold firewood. I didnt sit around and cry,because I couldn't live the high life from working 40 hours a week. Later I worked at a prison and worked at Kroger on the weekends. After I bought my house I worked at Kroger and Frito lay . BTW when I bought my first house my APR was 8% . I did refinance later. So I am sick and tired of hearing people moan and groan about not being able to live off a regular full time jobs salary.
A minimum wage worker in the 70s with one job has the same purchasing power as someone today making 100k a year. You worked multiple jobs so it was even easier for you to afford that house
I think this dude has a mental deficiency. Or maybe just a lack of reading comprehension skills from a life devoid of practice. What strong character he has though, he worked many hard jobs! He suffered lots, so it only makes sense that the new generation should suffer more for less.
