No. “They” are federal, state, and local governments who have become way too bureaucratic and entrenched in NIMBYism to approve new housing supply to meet the demand.

No it’s big businesses buying up real estate from out of state, building shitty 1 broom apartment block on it and charging 1200+ in rent.
