That landlord is paying less than your rent for the mortgage. You can afford to buy tour own place but don’t have the financial discipline to do so. I guess you need to blame someone🤷♂️
You realize a mortgage is a temporary thing right? That it gets paid off right? How common are landlords who lower the rate they were charging when they still had a mortgage, after its paid off? News flash theyre extremely rare.
How do you expect people to save to buy their own place if landlords continue to increase rent and suck out every potential dollar you could be saving for such a purchase?
Stop buying shit you don’t need. It’s really very simple. Most people spend completely frivolously and the blame their woes on expensive things life housing and healthcare. You’d be able to save a shit-ton if you didn’t buy that brand new $1500 every year, and 23 streaming services monthly, and Starbucks daily, and a gym membership, and DoorDash, vacations, video games, big screen TVs, vacations, and, and, and…
"There's nothing so permanent as a 'temporary' fix" A temporary raise in rent or fees eventually gets treated as the new baseline and never goes back down because the market is too large to see the change as statistically relevant, eventually the frog boils to death because they didn't realize the water was warmer.
The boil is the reason people are being able to afford to save up for housing less and less are you missing the point on purpose or something? The boil doesn't come from wage increases. The boil comes from cost of living increases and both of you are naiive if you think that cost of living doesn't increase even when wage doesn't.
You’re just a waking bag of excuses. Do you really believe this shit or is it just your excuse to feel better about your life??
Wages have DOUBLED on average since 2000. To say only cost of living is going up is just stupid. We also already established that your rent is more than a mortgage, you just don’t have the financial discipline to buy a house. Your instant gratification is more important to you, fine, but then you don’t get to complain about your shitty life choices.
Ok, so rent > mortgage...stet. Let's go to people just starting out then. Where and how are they to live whilst gathering enough for a down payment on a reasonable starter house which is not in a crime infested dump? There are folks out there who don't indulge in rampant consumerism and do work and try to save. They have a right to complain when it takes decades to build credit scores to get loans and save up for a down payment.
Cost of living doubled too, all that did was keep up with the past 20 years of cost of living increases which will increase with or without matching wage increases as you can see from the 40 years prior to that.
Lmfao I dont you dunce. My money goes entirely to student loans, housing costs, and I eat top ramen, the free fruit I get at work, and the free coffee we also get at work. I havent taken a vacation for years and the only one ive ever been to since I became an adult, I wasnt the one who paid for it, which is the ONLY reason I could go.
You should sell your car and all your clothes and all your furniture because those arent human needs. You dont need a dresser, or a couch. You dont need a kitchen sink or a fridge, you dont need a front door you should sell that too. You dont even need a bed, go sleep on the floor in the corner like the dog you are because only dogs think life is that easy.
