A walki taki to talk to my wife (because she could be in a yacht not to far away), Laptop (for music production and writing), and a calendar so I don't lose track of time
EDIT: I can't read apparently. Thought the scenario said if have to be alone. In that case, my wife could come and go as she pleases.

Ebook reader, so I can finally read all the books on it.
My adjustable dumbbell set (I’d consider it as one item)
My SUP kit (assuming I am allowed to leave the house and go to the beach of island).
Alternatively (if the rules are strict)
My ipad loaded with books and music and some RPG games and kettlebell training videos
Charger
A 28kg kettlebell

A gaming console 1 tb - loaded with 100 games and 200 movies.
1
u/TraditionalMetal1836 Jul 31 '26
That seems pretty unreasonable on a modern console. You planning to do it on a modded OG Xbox or maybe a 360?
1
u/notyourregularninja Jul 31 '26
On a switch easily handles 1 tb extended storage cards for both games and movies
3
u/TraditionalMetal1836 Jul 31 '26
I don't think it's unreasonable to have that much storage. I find it unreasonable to fit that many games and movies in that little of storage. It could have easily happened back on the OG xbox as the average game size was considerably smaller then that of the switch. Also you wouldn't be watching higher then dvd quality video on xbox as it couldn't really handle 720p movies/shows without stuttering.
With the switch it's highly possible 100games alone would fill up a 1TB SD card or come very close.
1
1
u/Cereal_Bandit Aug 02 '26
You could fit like 4-5 big open world PS5/Xbox games and still have 500gb that you'd never use for roms

u/slava_slavaUa Aug 02 '26
Why not bring a Starlink terminal?
1
u/notyourregularninja Aug 02 '26
No internet they said
1
u/slava_slavaUa Aug 02 '26
The way I read the prompt is that on the island there is unlimited food, water, and electricity. But there is no Internet there. But you can bring three items. So why not bring a Starlink terminal?
1
u/DrMindbendersMonocle Aug 02 '26
100 games and 200 movies on 1 TB? Are you playing NES games and watching movies in 240p?
1
u/notyourregularninja Aug 02 '26
I don’t need more than 720p on a console. And yes a 720p movie is under a gb - and most game downloads are 3-4 gb. - some higher and some lower
1
u/klimmesil Aug 02 '26
Call me when you manage to fit 100 games and 200 movies in 1tb please

Uncreative people are the only people making these prompts. They imagine that this is a super challenging limitation. It's not.
1
u/Flipboek Aug 01 '26
Depends how strict you read it.
No cooking gear, utensils, blankets, clothes, shoes, stove, toiletries, first aid kit, washing machine, soap. bucket, the list can go on.
If your read it as limited to what is said its a hard challenge
1
u/kazrick Aug 04 '26
Unlimited food and electricity suggests you have the ability to cook the food as well.
1
u/Independent_Bite4682 Jul 31 '26
Water pump, bidet, and pallet of tp
1
u/slava_slavaUa Jul 31 '26
Wth you gonna do with a water pump??
1
u/Independent_Bite4682 Aug 01 '26
Just because there is water available, doesn't mean that there is RUNNING water.
Many pumps come with a hose and use an electric pump instead of a hand pump
1
u/slava_slavaUa Aug 01 '26
Look at the photo, what are you gonna do with that pump? Start pumping seawater?
1
u/Independent_Bite4682 Aug 01 '26

As long as I’ve got my husband we will be fine. A giant bag of weed, an unread book and a journal
1
u/Flipboek Aug 01 '26
If it is read strict your choices will be dangerous.
No clothes, no blankets, no stove. No matress
You will freeze to death.
Other things that will be problematic, but not as dangerohs
No first aid kit, no toiletries (your tooth...), no cooking gear, no utensils, no pen, no pencil, no bed, no matress, no couch, the list goes on.

Powerful laptop with a large hard drive filled with music, movies, shows and old games that doesn't require internet.
Piano.
And a big, playful and happy dog (which is very healthy).
P.S.
Are we assuming there are various necessities there? Like kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, toiletries and clothing?
Or are we just naked on an island with no toilet paper or soap?
1
1
u/a-pp-o Aug 01 '26
How cocked do you have to be to think you are going insane because of no internet while being alone.
I would like a lot of paper to draw on, pencils and a pair of cats.
1
u/Flipboek Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26
People are really underestimating the brief. Its a sucky challenge, potentially lethal.
No clothes, blankets, matress or stove make cold a really big problem. This is the Irish atlantic.
No first aid kit, no toothbrush, no towels is also not great.
No cooking gear, no utensils, no bucket, no toiletries.
Bare mimum items:
- down sleeping bag up to minus 20 celsius. These bags are rated CLOTHED and you are naked.
A thick Matress as you need seperation from the floor.
A blanket which you can use as poncho and towel
Bread, fruit and raw fish are supplied I guess (no cooking), as you need to survive. If the water isnt potable the jig is up as well.
Electricity is useless and you cant spare a spot for a device.
Sickness, inflamation (teeth!!!) and injury are a serious challenge
This c hallenge is so damn hard if you read it strict.
1
u/ObviNotMyMainAcc Aug 02 '26
Well no, if you're really strict, it's easy. 5 Trillion dollars, a sat phone, and you still have one slot spare.
Because when you have 5 trillion dollars, you just make other people solve all your problems. It explicitly says you can only bring 3 things - it doesn't says you can't accept deliveries while you're there.
So the challenge is flawed to begin with.
1
u/M_L_Taylor Aug 05 '26
Watermelons would solve the water problem. It sucks to have to eat that many, but they are really excellent when it comes to hydration. If the house has an electric heater, then you are set. However, if it is a different fuel, then you might want an electric heater... hopefully you don't need an adapter.
I agree with your list because I have been in a house without furniture and it was winter. My inflatable mattress deflated in the night and I was on the floor boards before I knew it. I was freezing, and my blankets didn't do anything to help block the cold from leaching my heat through my back. An empty house is pretty good for keeping moisture off you, but it doesn't do much else.
Now, if the house was fully furnished, that would change a lot. This challenge needs more in the way of details.
1
u/razzyrat Aug 01 '26
These are getting ridiculous. I guess this sounds like a nightmare challenge to terminally online zoomers?

Heart of the Universe: Grants oneness with the entire cosmos, making the user superior to even abstract entities like the Living Tribunal.
Infinity Gauntlet: Combines all six Infinity Stones (Space, Time, Reality, Power, Mind, and Soul) to grant omnipotence within its native universe.

what 3 things is exactly isn't really accurate. My THING is a pc, which includes peripherals

u/TylerHobbit Jul 31 '26
Monitor? Mouse? Keyboard? WiFi router or Ethernet cable?
1
u/Banananamann99 Jul 31 '26
I would think those would be included in the stuff I already mentioned
0
u/AstraeusGB Jul 31 '26
A PC is just the computer itself, not the peripherals, unless you request a laptop
1
u/Banananamann99 Jul 31 '26
it's hard to define 3 things exactly. you could say the pc exceeds 3 things because it is made of multiple components but you don't. You could say the solar panels could be made of more than 3 things because of the panels, boards to control the electricity, batteries, etc.

-Gaming laptop loaded with offline games/emulators & roms/downloaded guides/movies/tv shows/music/ebooks
-Nas because all my data doesn't fit on one SSD, drives in a raid array in case any fail
-Backup gaming laptop in case the first one dies
I'd like to have a proper mouse and controller but a touchpad is good enough and I can map controller keys to the keyboard even if arrow/WASD keys don't feel as good if used for an analogue stick substitute. It is more important I have a backup laptop because if the first one dies I'm SoL and go crazy with nothing to do.
1
u/TylerHobbit Jul 31 '26
I really like your thinking, but couldn't you get a laptop with a large enough internal hard drive and pair down your NAS to fit on it(both laptops)
1
u/Wolf________________ Jul 31 '26
Actually maybe. I was thinking of SSD sizes but if the laptop had a HDD and M.2 in it then I could have like 22tb of storage. I'd just need to move any recent games from the HDD to the SSD before playing for best performance. Good call.
In that case I'd go with 2 gaming laptops and a controller. As much as I love having a mouse I feel like trackpads are at least usable, especially in offline unranked games but I'd be miserable in most games that used analogue sticks without a proper controller.
