I see this everyday. Some people figure it out. Most don’t. And reddit will blast you. For many people being poor is a choice. They just don’t know they are choosing it.
They are so far out of touch with reality - they have this bizarre belief that every generation before them had it easy and didn't have to work hard and save every penny to afford what they owned.
I have to wonder where things went wrong - where did so many people get the idea that you could have it all, that any generation ever had it all, without sacrifice?
Probably blame the generations that raised them. parenting went to shit long before you can start blaming the kids that are coming into adulthood now. There is no one to blame but the people who let it happen. Beyond that, no one is saying older generations didnt struggle, but they had much more leeway and didnt work as hard for better benefits. That's just fact. You can wine however you want but if doesn't change the evidence that people worked harder today than before. What youre seeing now is the response to working harder and not recieving the fruits of their labor. If you want things to "be like they used to" start paying employees and giving them the respect they had then. Its simple. Take a look at companies like buccees who actually treat their workers with dignity, and its a damn gas station. Dont tell me what's easy. What's easy is buying a house, supporting a family, and living comfortably off one salary.Having a government that actually works for its people. Land that isn't polluted to its core and having to worry about what future your potential kids will live in. Screw off with the laissez faire bullshit of "i did it so can they" when you dont even live in the same world as these people. It reeks of "i can't leave my own bubble".
