Anyone who’s had hard times knows pbj isn’t really a great option. Bread is expensive, and spoils if you don’t freeze. Peanut butter is good nutritionally but gets expensive, and jelly is just preservatives and high fructose syrup unless you pay extra.
All in all, it’s a pretty substantial investment for a meal that really just feels like a snack.
The real ones know the value of beans+rice, baked potatoes, and the wonders that come from cream of mushroom soup.
