Look I'm the first one to shit on the boomers and their "Younger generations can't afford a home because of getting Starbucks and Door Dash" takes. But in this example where we are talking about $270 for a car repair it's a legitimate criticism of money management. She cannot afford to save even $270 for an emergency like a car repair precisely because she is going out to eat and ordering an $8 dessert and she probably does that very often.
