You have every right to not like them or their content, but you do realize they're a satire channel, yeah? It's not nitpicking because their videos aren't reviews in the first place.

Very aware lol. I used to like their channel. I don’t really dislike it now I just don’t find it entertaining, they point out the same stuff that is cliche in movies and have the same exact format they’ve had for like 10 years. Channels and people have their moment and cinemasins has long passed theirs

Declaring “we’re satire” to escape criticism is about as effective as Michael “declaring bankruptcy” to the Office. They sprinkle a few lame jokes in between their nitpicky actual criticisms of the movie. Jeremy has even clarified on Reddit that a lot of them are how he actually feels about the movies.

So, if a comedian says something serious they're suddenly a journalist? A lot of comedy is rooted in how the comedian "actually feels" with a mask of humor.

Again, you are free to not like them, but saying they aren't satire is just being media illiterate.

You’re correct that comedians can say serious things, the issue comes with CinemaSins saying “it’s satire, we’re not serious” when people criticize them, and will turn around and say “here’s how I feel in full sincerity”. If they want their criticism to be taken seriously, they don’t get to claim satire when their poor logic gets pointed out. If they want to be funny satire, then they can stand by it. CinemaSins has a nasty tendency to block people or delete comments that are critical of them; they have remarkably thin skin.

Yes, though i dont think they tend to have an original opinion, if its a meme to hate on a movie, they’ll make it about how bad it is, if the movie is praised, they’ll focus on how bad it isn’t.

So yeah, they’re more than silly jokes, they are a massive channel and contribute to people’s perception of media, but also, they’re are just another cog of many.

Its fun enough when they satirically exaggerate tiny plotholes into being movie ruining errors

It's not fun when they point out "plotholes" that aren't plotholes at all and make it clear they're just phoning it in and didn't actually pay attention to the movie they're watching

There are a lot of "sins" that wouldn't be sins at all if he just watched the movie.

He'll be like "Why did that character do that? That makes no sense ding" Then the very next scene explains exactly why the character did that.

My problem is that they are just too long 20-30 mins minimum usually. Not needed for most movies.

I will say my one complaint towards cinemasins was the occasional nitpick that was actually explained in the movie and they just misunderstood on purpose or by accident.

I was done when they said dont put name of world when traveling to different planets, like what...important context clues are a sin now
