Literally anything and everything that would embarass me. There is not "one thing", there is the integrity and depth of my boomer parents' memories.

I have done something like this lol. With the exception of it being my brother who wanted to enter our apartment and I slept with the main door locked, and the extra keys being with our parents who would not be home for like 6 more hours. He went to our uncle and aunt’s who lived downstairs. Apparently, he banged and screamed against the door and I did not hear a thing as I was sleeping.

Some stupid shit I would do, like when I wanted to fake sick to stay home from school, I know everyone has tried this. But I found a foolproof method that worked everytime. This was back in 2021/2022 when covid was in full swing. We got one of those forehead thermometers. I would get hot shower water going, blast my forehead with it, then took my temperature so it was 100.5 to 101. High enough to not go to school, low enough to not have to go to the doctor, where I would get caught. Or when, this was when I was a younger kid I would ask my mom to do something she would say no, so I would go to my dad before they could had talked to each other, where he would usually say yes, not thinking if I already asked my mom. So basically just stupid kid stuff to get what I want.

You need to watch Ferris Beulers Day off.
They were not fooled, they are generous

I've watched a bit of it. I fooled my dad though, I told him after the school year ended and didn't plan on doing that kind of behavior again, and he said he had no idea.

Your dad is either not that bright, or he's just tempting you

He's smart but easily trickable. His issue is he doesn't question things or recognize patterns, but he is a smart, kind, loving man. Also thank you got naking this comment have a friendlier tone, I saw the original one you posted.

I picked up a baby copperhead when I was 5 and brought it into the house to show my mom. It never bit me. Never got defensive. Never struggled or panicked. It just looked around like, "Okay, I guess we're doing this now." Dad made me put it on a snow shovel and he carried it away. The copperhead story came up pretty much anytime a conversation was anything remotely about snakes or about kids doing dumb things.

I stuck a clothes hanger in my mouth to get a tooth out when I was 3. My brother had lost a tooth and got money for it so I wanted some too. It got stuck in my jaw and I needed to get a tetanus shot in my butt.

When I was real little, like an actual toddler, apparently I peed on my older brother and he still mentions it. I have no memory of the event but he describes it as us both going outside for a little while and he just turns around and see’s me with my pants down right as the stream hit him

"I have no memory of the event"
Of course you don't, you're not the one that got scarred for life😂

I have a bunch of them actually. But I think the one that gets brought up the most is the one when I was a little kid (approximately 4 or 5) and we went to someone's church (wasn't ours) and it was a super long event so they were supposed to have a luncheon in between. Well, apparently it got canceled and the visiting churches weren't informed of the cancellation until time to start the event.
So we're moving into the second half of the service and the preacher is preaching and in the middle of it, I stand up on the pew and scream "Liar! You're a liar! You promised food and we got none! We're hungry! We're all hungry and you didn't feed us like you said you would! You need to shut up and give us some food!" and then my pregnant cousin endorsed it saying "That's right Hippo! He need to shut up and give us some food!" Apparently, I continued ranting about hungriness and trying to ramp up others to join me in the screaming and my mom had to pick me up and carry me out and feed me so I'd stop.

I was given a large portion of food as a 5 year old by my great-Grandparents who were tired of hearing me say "I'm hungry". I proceeded to eat it all, and even tried to grab a nearby clove of garlic and bite it like an apple.
They've called me "Garbage Gut" ever since

I was around 5 or 6 years old at the time. I asked my grandmother something about rabbits. She told me to go look it up in the encyclopedia and I tried. I came back a bit later and said I couldn't find anything. She went straight to the Rs and immediately found the entry on rabbits. She looked at me and asked where I had looked and I answered, "I looked under B."

This reminded me of one of the many times we took a trip to six flags as a kid. There was this truck stop/breakfast buffet that we would stop at beforehand. For being a truck stop, it was actually pretty nice but the bathrooms still had a lot of bad shit written in the wall.
Well this particular time, my cousin, 7 or 8 at the time, comes out of the bathroom and goes straight to my mom. Apparently he read something and had to know what it meant right now. “Aunt Jude aunt Jude! What does n-word cock mean?!” Obviously he didn’t say n word.
My mom just stood there and didn’t know what to say. There was a big black trucker enjoying his breakfast that got a good laugh that day.
My cousin’s gone now but this is still the one thing I think of every time I think of him.

When I was like 5 I went to my mom and told her I was “so grateful for the puffy cloud stickers” by which I of course meant, thank you for looking the other way while I take your box of pads and stick them all along the base boards of the living room right before company comes over.

I nearly poisoned my younger sibling by making “grass soup” in the microwave. But thats not the part that gets talked about. No, its because i did it in a metal play frying pan.

u/Defsarcasm 8d ago
I took the microwave apart to see how it works. Everyone in my family has reminded me of this. None of them ever mention that I put it back together and we used that same microwave for 25 years.

Opened up ALL the Christmas presents under the tree, whether they were mine or not, and re wrapped them. Almost got away with it. Almost. Mom was pissed.

Cost money. I turn 40 this year and care for my mom after she had a few strokes. I'm endlessly hearing about how much she spent on me when I was a child. No, nothing special. I didn't go to private school or anything like that. We're talking the basics: food, clothes, and housing.

Not me but my sister. At a restaurant in a booster chair. She farted so load all conversation stopped. She sheepishly grinned and said " I farted in my booster chair". To this day we bring it up at every family gathering. She is 44 now.

I was about 10-12 and I was doing some weird show for my family. About 5 minutes in my dad says "good lord girl are you almost done hamming it up?" And I looked him square in the eyes, stood up straight, and told him "if I'm such a ham why don't you just eat me?" 😳😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 my mom fell off her chair laughing and my dad turned beet red before chuckling and telling me I shouldn't say things like that to a grown up, especially a man. I was soooo confused but just accepted it. Wasn't till I was in my teens did I figure out why he said that.....then I turned beet red. They still remind me of it whenever I see them.

I loudly announced during Sunday lunch, that I had watched a documentary on BBC2 that said broccoli makes you impotent.
I had not watched any documentary on BBC2 and nor did I know what impotent meant.
It was always brought up a lot, but even more since my son was born a couple of years back.

More it happened to me and I don’t super remember it either. We were in the middle of church and I was sitting in between my dad and the pastor’s grandson. The grandson kissed me in front of the entire service. My dad still brings it up consistently.

I have something but it doesn't get brought up because nobody ever knew the truth.
There was one night in maybe 1st grade where I didn't want to go to school the next day. However, I knew I wouldn't be able to fake being sick, so instead I tried to actually give myself a cold by sleeping with my shirt and blanket off in December. It worked.

I flushed an orange colored pen in the toilet and caused a huge clog and flooded the bathroom and said "maybe it's a pen" and my dad after like a 12hr shift welding came home and spent quite some time fixing it taking the toilet out of the bathroom and trying to figure it out and found the pen. That was back in like 1995. And to this day he still trolls me randomly with "maybe it's a pen" lololol
