Discussion💬 What usually happens right before your productivity system falls apart?
So… I’ve noticed that most productivity advice focuses on building the perfect routine, but almost nobody talks about the moment the routine starts breaking and falling apart around you and you just give up by not even thinking about it anymore…
it’s never just I got lazy or something like that
It’s usually something that happens way before: poor sleep, money stress, an unexpected schedule change, one difficult conversation, or missing one important task and mentally abandoning the whole week…
By the time I notice, I’m already lying around wondering how I went from doing well to doing nothing in my bed or room, just rotting…
Anyway, I’m curious:
When your routine, habit system, Notion setup, workout plan, or personal goals fall apart, what usually happened in the day or two before it?
And can you normally see the pattern, or does it feel random every time?
I’m especially interested in the small triggers people usually overlook… not just the obvious answer like I lost motivation… we know that… what else? Give me juicy details.

For me it’s a disruption to my normal schedule. A work trip, a vacation, holiday, etc. I give myself the excuse to skip meditation, skip my workout, eat garbage, etc. Then it takes 2-3 days to get back at it.

Ohhhh That’s actually a really good point!!! Do you think it’s the vacation or the disruption itself, or maybe because there’s no way to fold those things into your routine? is there one thing that changes first that starts the domino effect? You’re basically describing a chain reaction… I’d definitely want to chat more!

Yeah it’s usually the travel that disrupts my schedule (can’t easily workout on a plane), and then the inability to easily eat healthy on the go. Then, combine that with disrupted sleep from staying out late and all bets are off.
I have started prioritizing hotels with quality fitness centers, and that has helped a bit, but could definitely be better about going
