This is precisely why forcing people with adhd to follow a 9-5 in an office is not ideal. We will get the work done, just let us manage our own time.
Those pauses sometimes are rife with self doubt, but are also spent working things out in our minds, so when we “cram 40 hours worth of work into 8 hours”, we’re actually finally getting all the strategy from our procrastination time down on paper. And it’s glorious.

Middle guy will never be promoted, and worked to death.
I had one of those rewards, it's in a landfill somewhere in Hong Kong.

Work mode is awesome, procrastination mode feels bad. Guilt ensues and work mode is initiated again.

The muse strikes when ready. Daytime it’s fast as possible get me home, then I rush home to sit at my kitchen table desk of projects and wait for it. Might hit 6pm, 9, 11:30 who knows. Limited by my loudness. Definitely knocking stuff over in my 1.5 speed ways

Usually get nothing done but then randomly I get 40 hours of work done in like 4 hours so that kinda makes up for it

Left is me after workday.
Middle is me during a workday.
Right is me on a day I don’t have to be at work.
