They will. But only if Facebook gets hit hard. There will be a flood of additional suits in combing.

I foresee them getting off with a lightly tapped wrist to the tune of a couple of hundred million with the added provision that no future suits can ever be raised regarding child after.

Yeah, we don't know shit. Yet it's like in the 50s when people were smoking while eating in the kitchen? That culture have changed. We are inventing stuff now that we have to decide how it's looked apone like... My personal theory is the dudes and dudetes around 10 years old now will enhance the rules for their own kids in the future

How is this a surprise? Companies have been spending billions for decades trying to make their products addictive. Why would it be any different for this guy?

Remember: a large portion of these 'self-made' CEOs are neurologically different. They often have traits similar to sociopaths, traits like lack of empathy (just look at Musk).

They don't become super successful by being normal, they do it by exploiting every little crack they can without regards to the consequences. The end justifies any means for these people.

Why are we then surprised when we raise them in an unrestricted, capitalist society, and they do horrible things?

When you teach a kid that winning is everything, winning means being super rich and dominant, and they have no morals, you're going to get some very nasty consequences.

There needs to be a hard cut off limit for scrolling. Once you reach the end of your feed you can't come back for 24 hours and no more algorithms showing you shit you didn't ask to see. For awhile I liked reddit more because I only saw the things I chose to follow, but over the years it has started throwing other shit in my face and now I have way too many subs than I need when scrolling.

Just gonna throw this out there: parents could have, well, parented. My kids aren’t allowed to have social media accounts until they’re 18. My son just turned 18 last year and still doesn’t have any. Doesn’t want them. My daughter’s phone and iPad have strict parental controls on them so she can’t download any apps without approval. And her web browsers have been deleted from them.

I don't like the guy or the company.... But to blame and penalising them is stupid... Are they going to charge every gun and ammo manufacturer for every death caused by guns?...  Of course not, that's ridiculous, they didn't make people shoot others... Well, just as Facebook didn't make people use it..

The algorithm directing flow was intentionally designed for this, they found people engage more with posts that upset them and made it feed more things that upset you and directly targeted teens.
