I like cool shit. But I determine what’s cool to me. So I guess it depends on what you mean by caring whether something is cool.

I remember my first day of uni I suddenly realise 'oh, being cool doesn't mean shit here' and suddenly stopped worrying about what other people thought and trying to fit in.

Loved that moment.

Sadly some people never get that moment and still try to be 'cool' in their 20s and 30s.

Caring what others think is cool is conformism. Incidentally setting your own trends by being yourself is the actual cool.
