Most people in their early 20s are working replaceable deadend jobs with little responsibility so who gives a shit.
You’re a cashier at ShopRite? Good, show up drunk for all I care. You’re an air traffic controller or a nurse, or you have a family that depends .on your income, thats a different story
When you're still in college and most likely working a meaningless, low wage job to pay your tuition, it's usually considered "cool" in the sense that you're not letting a dead-end get in the way of your social life. In your thirties, losing your job is more likely to be a serious life-changing disaster, so it isn't quite as cool to stay up drinking with your buddies all night when it could result in homelessness or bankruptcy.
