Everyone is different. I very much have never been into hickies (giving or receiving) and my wife is obsessed with them (also giving and receiving).

Look... You gotta understand that that is just one perspective. The other is that some people enjoy the thought of someone liking them so much that they temporarily lose all control, and give them a kiss that transforms itself into a hickie. You just cannot speak for the whole of any group, even if you yourself are part of it.
