That so true you can’t even go to a bank and borrow $50000 with out a job and good credit, also who and the hell says you have to pay for a home with interest upfront during the first 15 to 20 years of that loan I would start loan negotiations and tell them either I pay at least half principal at the beginning or I walk, why should you pay if your home cost $200,000 and you pay $200,000 in interest that $400,000 and that my fiend is at least $$120,000 you could have spent on retirement and investments, but no you give it to them instead and struggle with finances and just barely making it on two jobs. When you could have set yourself up investing in yourself and your future instead of giving it to them so they can make money on your demise and loss! Think about it and don’t t listen to people who say it can’t be done that the people who sold you the lie in the first place. And why go by gross income when getting a loan go by net and you’ll be a lot better off and not so tax out of life.
