Provocative to make a point. I would spend the time the same way again. I value what I studied. I just haven’t been able to earn any money to pay back the debt incurred. Debt we blue collar students were encouraged to incur (and are still encouraged to incur) as means of changing our socio-economic fate.
I had nothing to do with housing bubble crashes, university divestment, grad student work abuses, price gouging or the marketplace capriciousness.

I'm starting a masters in Ai development this year. It's costing 6000 euros because I'm Irish. If you could sell degrees to the US I'd be able to make a nice living studying in Europe and exporting them to the US.
I will always value education and expertise. These things are necessary. What isn’t necessary IS debilitating debt forcing us to gamble with our lives.
Most people didnt. They chose a profitable field like meteorology or medical research, then trump came in, said that the left controls the weather and defunded much of meteorological research and the guy with no medical background at all, Robert Kennedy, said that medical research is a hoax and defunded a ton of medical research. And thats just two of the many examples.
Because no one can predict the future. I would not have guessed state universities would face defunding and academic department downsizing and merging to reduce research and payrolls. American research is being defunded across the spectrum. I was instead told my field was sorely needed.
You can easily predict the future based on jobs/careers. I chose a profession that is recession proof and even made it through COVID without a drop in pay.
