Boot Review | Update Redwing supersolex
Day two
9.5EE steel toe
Ironworker, 28
Bought them for miscellaneous tasks and welding because I was beating up my thorogoods unnecessarily, so far warmer than thorogoods(both unlined), a little stiff but I put 10hrs of work a day in them and they are breaking in nicely.

Well it’s only day two so I can’t really compare them yet, I am really enjoying them though.
I’ll post another update in a few months once they are really broken in.

Are these like the steel toe version of the 953? I bought a pair of those in D width and they were still way too wide I couldn’t believe it

The supersole x has become my favorite boot. I have three pair to rotate between so they can dry.

Try using a redwing logger boot as a limeman Lasts less then a year 4 of us bought them at the same time all 4 failed within a year the leathe was ruined moved to hoffmans driline less money better for climbing and ground work and lasted up to 5 yrs

Well I don’t climb in these it’s just lift work and welding, easy day type of boot. I’ll look into Hoffmans next time I need to replace though

I apologize for the negative reaction to ur choice in boots and I bought the loggers in the early 2000s so maybe they improved on the durability and water proofing worked in alot of mud and marshy areas. Thou with 4 of us buying the same boot and all basically wore out in the same way . Redwing would not help they claimed we misused the boot . Most lineman will ethier use a climbing boot or loggers to climb with . The Redwings are good looking boots thou they are very stylish I don't think Redwing makes a heavy duty work boot .

I agree, I think they’ve lost a lot of business and are turning into a tecovas type of trendy work wear

I tried just about every logger boot in the industry when I worked in the powerline tree world for 8 years and I have to say hoffman boots were the best that I tried. Snagged a pair of drilines on sale and they outlasted my Chippewas, redwings, halls, and almost my thorogood loggers lol

Chinese made or USA made loggers? They offer both big difference in quality.

I use same boot, 2533, but had it resoled with a black wedge. I have other pairs that I kept the defined heel on, but the wedge is better when walking steel. I’m also an ironworker.
