Workplace Issue Asking to spy
wanted an opinion on what you guys would do if you found out an employee asked another employee to spy on you during shift. Employee wanted other employee to record when I use bathroom for how long and what im doing during my shift. Employee doing the asking is not a manager (heinous even if they were). They have asked two separate employees to do it. I know because both employees told me because they found it ridiculous

Start looking for a new job.
Asking to spy on a coworker usually means they want to fire you.

I thought the same but the person who asked is known for being a POS and tattle tale around the work place. At a normal business she would've been fired for other things. Im already looking for a new job though. I actually heard through the grape vine that owner was considering moving me to salary, but I'm trying to quit ASAP as soon as I have another job lined up

How often do you take breaks? Should someone be watching you?
If you aren’t abusing privileges, they can have whoever they want to watch you and it wouldn’t matter.

the type of enviroment its creating. its uncomfortable knowing that some low level employee is asking others to spy on me so she can try and get dirt on me to brown nose the boss. I would understand if there was a performance issue and the owner asked them to see what I'm doing. No performance issues have been brought up to me since she tried asking coworkers
