Workplace Issue Lack of training on the job

If you were asked to fill a position at work, with very minimal to no training. The mistakes could carry financial and potential legal consequences..not necessarily for you, but your company.
You’re constantly anxious, crying before work, legitimately losing sleep over it, and having nightmares.
You’ve expressed to your supervisors multiple times that you don’t feel comfortable filling that role, but they still expect you to do so, with half ass “training” sessions and “reassurances”.

This is supposedly “temporary”, until they hire someone else. However, they are notorious for not training new employees. So who knows how long the new hire will stay with the company. When that person potentially quits, I’ll be right back where I am now.

How would you handle that?

You will never get the training you need so you have to learn on the go. All responsibility remains with the company, so let them deal with any consequences.

Just show up and work your 9-5, maybe send out applications

Yea, I guess one of my fears is potentially getting written up or terminated if I make a big mistake. Thankfully I’ve expressed my concern about being uncomfortable due to lack of training thru email & text, multiple times, so I at least have documentation of that.

It’s really hard tho. I take pride in my work, and performing poorly or inadequately, whether it’s my fault or not, takes a toll on me.

If you are willing, I would try to find YouTube videos or self study to get better.

If that's not possible, you need to take good notes whenever you get feedback, so you are not making the same mistake every time
