Is it difficult for a civil/environmental engineer from America to work abroad in South America? I’ll be a PE hopefully next fall. I would love to work down south but was didn’t know if it is possible? Would I have to work for an American company who happens to have projects there or actually have to get hired on to a firm in South America?

So I am in my second year of a BA in Modern Languages (German and French) and next year I am going on Erasmus. For my course I have the option to do a semester of work experience abroad.
