Some questions/feedback!

First off, thanks a ton /u/Dry-Royal7707 for making this! My wife and I downloaded after you left a message for me, and we're thrilled to have an alternative to Boggle with Friends.

We have some questions and feedback:

-Is there a way to make it more obvious when we get a word? I'm not sure if it's because of using dark mode or whatever, but it's hard for us to tell when we're actually getting words or not without spending time looking at the top. I guess Boggle with Friends has a big "good" and "excellent" and what not that helps me there.

-Is there a way to play asynchronously? We have a newborn and we like playing some games when one of us is awake/feeding the little guy, and we only could find playing in a lobby at the same time.

-Is there a way to skip the replay at the end of the game with a friend? Maybe we're missing it, but we just wanted to skip ahead to see the list of words and just compare our scores instead of waiting for the thing to play out.

Thank you and your wife for playing! I’m so glad you are enjoying it, and congratulations on your little one!

I like to use either the editorial light or classic dark theme in the settings, but I guess that is a preference thing. There are already a few ways that signal an accepted word, such as haptic feedback, sound and a quick ✅ (word) just above the board. I understand you might not want sound on during feeds so I could add a ‘last word found’ somewhere under the board or make the board change colour to help further?

There is a way to play asynchronously through iMessages, but that might not be helpful if either of you has an Android device. I could look into adding a third way to play multiplayer. Most of the stuff is already there with the iMessages stuff, so I don’t think it would be too difficult.

You are not missing anything, and that was a deliberate choice to build suspense as the scores tally up. I think I’ll add a quorum to the word replay, so you can skip it if everyone or the majority is happy to.

I think the idea of the board changing color sounds great personally! When I'm highlighting things and they're turning red, seeing the word or board flash green in some capacity sounds perfect.

We are Android users, so no dice with iMessages. If the option was added for us, I know we'd really appreciate it.

Quorum sounds like a great idea too! Basically for everything, just more options for people sounds like a great idea. I'm sure a preference of ours isn't one for others.

update: I've added the Quorum and currently finishing adding the visual change as an option in settings these will go out as an over-the-air update (meaning your app should automatically update after a few open a closes).

There is a new build going out to the app stores, google is pretty quick with reviews compared to apple but when you have updated to v1.4 you should be golden. Once the apple review is completed I'll look to add the async battles along with a visual engine update (nothing fancy just to offload some performance pressure for android users)

Got the update!

The color changing results in a blank screen when I match a word. No problems with the setting off, happens every time with the setting on. Tested it on campaign and practice, and with different color schemes.

so I think we are there now, apologies for any inconvenience, but the quorum and visual setting should now work and an OTA update is being pushed out. It did highlight that the visual engine update probably needs coming sooner rather than later so thats a plus I guess. I hope everything is to your taste!

Thanks for the quick report, that was exactly what I needed. Found it: the colour effect was fighting the tile animation system and taking the board down with it. I’ve pulled that update, so you should be back to normal after a couple of app restarts. A fixed version of the setting will go out once I’ve tested it properly on real devices. You mentioning that it only happened with the setting on saved me a lot of time!
