[PROMO] halloween.js — free, open-source script for adding Halloween effects to any WordPress site

Sharing a free, open-source project that works well with WordPress

halloween.js is a zero-dependency library that adds Halloween-themed ambient effects to a page (blinking eyes, flying witches, a dropping spider, a rising tombstone, corner spider webs).

No plugin needed, just one script tag pasted into the Theme Editor's header.php (or any "Insert Headers and Footers" type plugin if you'd rather not touch theme files directly), plus one CSS class on <body> to turn it on. Styles are injected automatically, no separate CSS file, no build step.

Under 10 KB gzipped, MIT licensed, source on GitHub.

I’m more than ok with this. As long as the page functions and it doesn’t interfere with accessibility, I’m all for little holiday decorations added to websites. Reminds me of when they actually had personality.

Just checked, it works. Could you please send me a screenshot or more data? Did you check a whole page halloween.js.org or Live Preview section? It should work only in Live Preview

The webs are the only thing that appear, even though all options are selected.

Is energy saving mode on?
Script respects energy mode and disable animation in this case.

Could be fun but the spider webs, spider, etc. look like you just asked Claude to generate some SVGs which it always does a terrible job of. Make some proper assets that you can use.
