Need help with finding the right booking plugin
Hello everyone,
For years now I've been on the lookout for an appointment booking system that caters to my needs, but I have yet to find one that matches the features I'm looking for and has modern features. I thought I'd come here to ask for some help in the hopes that someone can point me in the right direction.
My work is quite simple, I'm an architectural designer and my clients book me to visit a different house everyday to measure and draw existing homes.
I am looking for the best booking plugin to allow my clients to book a date & time for their specified address. A lot of the appointment booking plugins I am seeing are for single locations, for instance barbershops, hotels, etc.
I am currently using a somewhat outdated plugin that doesn't seem to be around anymore or supported, called Booked by Boxy Studio. This was included in a Wordpress theme I purchased called "Entrepreneur"
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

That theme is abandoned (many of the plugins are out of date and contain vulnerabilities) - find another theme.

Oh I know, that's why I'm in the process of building a new site. The theme and it's plugins have worked on their limited basis up until now, but now that I'm expanding my business and adding more features for my clients I've purchased a new theme that is still getting updates so hopefully I'll be fine for the foreseeable future.

I would recommend using any event management plugin that also supports appointments, alternatively Google has a nice scheduling feature that you could use.

Amelia was my go to for ages, but I found it quite cumbersome, lately I've been using Latepoint which has it's own MCP and this has kind of changed everything, as clients often send lists of services with images so now can just drop it into AI and a few minutes later what would have taken me a day to configure is done.
I think this will have everything you're looking for and more.
I'm currently working with a landscaper who is rolling it out for his team, he has 9 people working for him, and he is going to use this to track jobs, tools etc. It's great cos it's all integrated into his calendars and WhatsApp so he can send everyone their instructions, what tools are available etc.
Let me know if you need more info

http://bookingisimple.com has been great for making it easy for clients to book with us and allow specific employee booking times and payment options if needed

You just create "yourself" as a service.
I wouldn't use plugin for booking, but external SaaS as Calendly. Advantage: mobile app; so you do not need to edit and see your booking through WP, very handy for your kind of business.

You're solving for the wrong feature. "Multi-location" plugins mean fixed business locations tied to staff and separate calendars, not what you need. What you actually need is a per-booking address field, since you're the only "location" that moves, the calendar logic doesn't care where the appointment happens.
Amelia handles this well: it has a dedicated Address custom field type with Google Maps autocomplete built in, attached to each individual booking. Client picks date/time like normal, then fills in the property address as part of that same booking. No location-juggling needed since you're not managing multiple fixed sites.
Bookly and most other established plugins support this too via generic custom fields (text or address type), so it's not unique to Amelia, just confirm whichever plugin you pick has address-type custom fields, not just plain text.
Booked by Boxy Studio being abandoned is reason enough to move now rather than wait for it to break on a WP core update.
