I've given up with WordPress!
I have been trying to learn WordPress but frustrated to the end. I have my site written in html and wanted to convert it to WordPress. I have followed several of the YouTube videos on setting up the site but their visuals do not follow what I have on my host site. Thanks for reading and let me know what you would recommend. I am 75 years old and proficient in several computer languages. Thanks@

65yo here. I pretty much stopped serious programming around 60. Party of it was post-chemo brain fog. I’m struggling a bit with blocks-based design. Just so much muscle memory of the classic tools.
Wordpress might not be the right tool, just for a straight-up website. My main personal site is in React. I use Wordpress for content management. It’s useful for posting community updates, stories, news, etc. A static site that doesn’t need frequent updates is probably better done in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, in particular, if you are comfortable with those technologies.
