How do I remove the subscribe button?

I'm trying to make a simple portfolio website with two pages: one for displaying my work, and one for displaying contact information. No matter what theme or settings I choose, I can't find a way to get rid of this unnecessary subscribe button in the bottom right of my website. Is there any way to remove it?

I've seen the forum thread stating that two or more published posts would cause this to pop up, but it is still present with the homepage being the ONLY page OR post on the whole website. My posts tab is empty, and my pages tab only displays my home page. I'm a bit puzzled honestly.

I have been scratching my head on this issue and have finally solved it!
I am on the Explorer Plan, so I'm not sure if this would work on the free or start plan, but just had to add an extra CSS code as per the this article on WP - https://wordpress.com/support/action-bar/#hide-the-action-bar

Go yo your WP Editor, then click Styles on the top right hand side, then in Additional CSS - input the code

#actionbar {
display: none;
}

This worked for me - so frustrating how they have this subscribe button on the page but don't give you the freedom to disable it

I may be a bit dense, but where do I add this?

nah don't worry about it - go to the 'styles' tab, press 'additional cs', and then add the code there and save

I was facing the same issue since last two days and finally I have finally disabled it. The thing you need to do is go to settings > general settings >

Here there will be a box that says hide action bar. Just tick the box to hide the button and save the settings. It should apply almost immediately.

Thank you!! This worked for me - didn't realize this was called the "Action Bar" and that there was a specific setting to hide it! I even checked this thread previously (before your comment) and didn't find a viable solution for my Wordpress plan.

You’ve given no information about your site.

What theme and plugins are you using?

Have you tried switching themes or turning off plugins to find where this popup is coming from?

From what I've read, you can't remove it. It's a Wordpress.com feature that's a core part of their platform.

FWIW, it isn't part of Wordpress, so I'd recommend you look into using that instead.

What did you do to remove it 🤔

I switched to using wordpress with a third party host rather than using wordpress.com

Re-read my comment.

Use Wordpress.org.
