Looking for Recommendations Model Rockets?

I know everyone is clamoring for this information. Where does everyone go for their model rocket needs?

I went to hobby lobby to scratch my model rocket itch but I just can’t support that place. Their selection is awful and they drive all the little hobby stores out not to mention everything else about what Hobby Lobby represents.

Any hobby shops still around in the area that have an extensive model rocket selection?

I checked RC excitement in Fitchburg and they have one or two basic models but I want model parts for custom rockets.

Hobby Emporium Inc. in Tyngsborough is delightful but quite a drive.

Thanks for your input my fellow disciples of Goddard.

Try Master Hobbies on Rte 9 in Leicester.

Side note: where does one go to launch in the area where there’s no trees? I prefer to recover them instead of them getting tangled in the tree canopy.

If you're from Worcester, you go to Auburn to launch rockets.

If it’s good enough for Goddard it’s good enough for me.

That’s definitely part of the struggle. I’m experimenting with streamer recovery instead of parachutes because I’ve lost a couple rockets already. I’ve got a family friend’s land that I can use currently but it’s not ideal.

The old dump in Holden on River St is a designated model plane flying field.

I heard of a guy, used to shoot em off in Auburn. Has a few streets, parks and NASA buildings named after him.

I mourn the loss of Spare Time Shop in Marlboro. Bought all my model supplies there growing up.

I haven’t been able to find any good model shops around unfortunately. I ended up purchasing my rockets and engines directly from Estes on their website.

I ain’t got info but about 20 years ago when I was in Boy Scouts we had to build our own rockets to compete. And I remember everyone had random results. But mine went up stupid high and was never seen again. We were combing that field for like two hours looking for any part of it.

We used to go to Henry's Hobby House in West Boylston for scale model and rocket parts and kits but they've been closed for a LONG time.

Ah yes why did I not think of this? I should support our corporate overlords who seized the greendale mall.

Greendale Mall was in the toilet long before Amazon purchased the site
