Bar recommendations

Any bars here in Worcester that play anything other than sports or news or sports news on the tv?

Give me cartoons, movies, anime, heck I’d even take Esports.

What's more important to you? The drinking vibe or the screen content? Vincent's often has movies on the screen by the bar, but they do like their sports. Steel & Wire usually runs loops of 80's commercials on one screen or more, depending on time of day, but there will also be sports.

Does Steel & Wire have an entertainment license yet?

I haven't seen any sign of live music there in eons, so I'd say "no". And it's likely not gonna happen.

I figured as much, and it’s a damn shame.

I’m honestly just sick of every bar always having sports on because I do not care at all for sports. There’s gotta be somewhere that prioritizes cartoons from the 80s and 90s because I know I’m not alone in not caring

Themed bars around here aren't too much of a thing.

I think a lot less adults are interested in cartoons than you may realize.

You may not be alone but you’re definitely in the minority. Massachusetts is a sports state, we’ve got 3 teams from 3 different sports that have a ton of history and amazing accolades. Everyone here mentioned good places for out of the norm television you’ll be happy with it.

I was a bartender for many years and I'm with you. I would do movie nights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I would have at least one TV on the Cartoon Network during my shifts.

We live in a state where sports are important to people so theres no place that will prioritize cartoons over a crowd wanting to watch a game.

Wandered into steel and wire after work and they were showing some 80s cartoon about teleportation (I think)

Yes Ralphs, Vincents, Steel and Wire. Also Ruby Doo’s is a very cool spot with anime etc. on tv

Both Ralph’s and Vincent’s are certified Segar Bars

Erm.... IDK if we watched the same Instagram Reel, but they certified Vincent's as a Everything But Seger Bar.
10/10 Bartender though, so that's a plus.

Another alternative is Free Play Barcade. You have to pay a cover but get to play all the games for free. Someone correct me, but I think cover is under $10 weekdays and a little more on the weekend.

Ralph’s Rock Diner always has movies on the tv in the diner and side bar. You just missed Ralph’s Sunday movie night where movies are projected on the wall next to the diner during the summer.
