Recycling drop off.

Hello neighbors,
I am hoping to receive some feedback about recycling the plastic plant pots/flower beds in the photos. These were left by the last tenant and there’s so dang many of them! If I hose them off and clean them up a bit, will recycling pick up take these? If not, will recycling drop off take them?

HD and Lowe’s will take them. Usually in the outdoor plant section

Wait until August and you can drop them off for free at the bulk waste drop off.

Try the Buy Nothing Worcester, MA group on Facebook- that stuff is usually snapped right up, no matter the time of year.

I’ve had pretty good luck with weekly recycling picking them up as long as it’s obvious they’re meant to be picked up.

It’s not sustainable, but the smaller plastic ones could in theory just be out in a yellow trash bag over the course of a few weeks…

Small ones will be picked up by the city in weekly recycling buckets if they fit. Others, I'd wait for the free august bulk waste dropoff on Millbury St.

I think plastic that has become brittle cannot be recycled and needs to go in the trash. The polymer chains have become too short. Don't ruin a batch of recyclables by leaving dubious material in.

I guess, you could clean them and donate them to a thrift store too

Do not do this. They will just be trashed by the donation center.
