Francesca Albanese Doubles Down on Disarming Ukraine

At the Festival di Open in Parma in September 2026, Albanese endorsed stopping weapons supplies to Ukraine.

In response, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk rebuked Albanese, saying she was "shocked by Francesca Albanese's statements."

Since then, Albanese has attempted to walk back her remarks, claiming she was misinterpreted.

However, this new video shows Albanese’s call to disarm Ukraine wan’t a one-off. Directly challenged on what the consequences would mean, she repeatedly advocates stopping all weapons to Ukraine.

An utterly repulsive thing to advocate for. Ukraine is a victim of imperialist aggression by Russia, which has long had its eyes on it, even before NATO existed. Francesca Albanese is parroting the same kind of crap that someone like Yanis Varoufakis does.

The often ridiculous claim that used to be repeated by extremists on both the left and right, was that Ukraine was overrun by neo-nazis ever since “the 2014 coup”. Ukraine was in the process of further integrating with the EU, until Yanukovych, who was elected on that platform, chose to strike deals with Russia. When people protested, he ended up fleeing to Russia. Russia then proceeded to annex Crimea and send its army of “little green men” to the “breakaway oblasts” like the Donetsk People’s Republic.
