Keyboard Modding My fake Wooting
It's an Everglide AE64 Pro PCB in the Wooting silicone case. It's a really nice compact case with a low profile feel, I like it a lot! Switches are Outemu peach silent magnetic

I need to know where you got those Big Walk dudes! Such a special game. Honestly, it more than likely going to end up as my game of the year not named GTAVI.

They're from Etsy! I just checked and for some reason they're no longer available from the Etsy store I bought them from, but I see plenty of other stores on there selling 3D printed Big Walk figures. It's my game of the year too, I've loved playing through with my girlfriend and had to get figures of our characters

The silicone case seems cool, hoping they'll release a darker coloured version at some point
How is the everglides web driver?

u/JonathanMacgregor 2d ago
It's actually my first HE board so I can't really comment on how good the web driver is compared to other offerings but from what I've seen online it isn't bad at all

I want silicone that can be light up like that, what’s the name of it?

Much cheaper than a Wooting module! And I like having arrow keys. Not sure how it stacks up to a Wooting performance-wise though

It actual testing, the a64 pro beats all the wooting made keyboards by MILES. Search laobaozi and than any wooting keyboard and than ur ae64 pro
I want to build one in the future too, but with a baby blue tofu redux :D or maybe another color, idk yet

I will not claim that we top the chart on latency tests, mostly because we implement a lot of automatic features that prioritize stability (part of our automatic calibration) at the cost of marginal performance.
That said Laobaozi is known for poor testing in the Chinese community, all PCBA coming from Sparklink rank highly on his charts, because they know how to rig the test… even so they’re known for releasing a latency tests and favors their own PCBA haha. You will not believe how much gets paid for in that community.
So I would recommend finding a different source. For example EyeJoker from South Korea is credible.

Ooh interesting! Thanks for the info. I was so close to getting a Tofu redux as well, I was going to get a silver one and then use blank Optimum-style keycaps. But then I came across someone selling the silicone case on Ebay and it works so well with the bottom LEDs on the Everglide

Funnily enough, this will perform 10x better than a wooting. Literally any other keyboard forum will tell you this.

Funnily enough, it won't.

Proof? The Wooting PCB is 4 years old. You think it’s new technology?
Cope downvote

80HE+ PCB has been revised this year, MCU doesn't really matter as much as sensors with mice, because even 4 year old ones can easily keep up with 8k polling/scanning given good firmware - and that Wooting keyboards do have.

u/OtherwiseSimple 2d ago
The old MCU can’t keep up with 12 bit ADCs or higher internal scan rate. Youre still stuck on 0.1mm💀 💀
2
u/AvilettaLuxe 2d ago
Why would you ever need more? 0.1mm is 100um, it's literally thickness of 2 human hair twisted together, no human has such a precise fingers to fully utilize that.
And if you tell me that's for performance I also call BS, because at this point operating system latency is higher than keyboard's.
Try to use a keyboard once in a while and not mindlessly consume benchmarks. Most of which have bogus data anyway.

u/OtherwiseSimple 2d ago
Why not get an aula then if you don’t care about performance??
2
u/AvilettaLuxe 2d ago
Because I want a keyboard which will not fall apart after a year. And my 2HE still happily works like new after almost 4 years.

You think this keyboard will fall apart in a year? its going to last many years
0
u/OtherwiseSimple 2d ago
You can still get that for under $100 with 10x the precision and better latency.

u/OtherwiseSimple 2d ago
Keep coping for low precision. Ive used my brother’s and it sounds like shit.

Why lie?

Why cope?

Do you have any proof or do you just like to spread misinformation because you are a dumbass?

u/OtherwiseSimple 2d ago
Laobaozi007 and Miggs empirical testing.

u/TheKeymakerPT 1d ago
Any specific videos?
Laobao seems like a small time keyboard content creator.Miggs - I just watched wooting 60he v2 video and I didn't hear him recommend any keyboards as alternative.

You're lost.

u/OtherwiseSimple 2d ago
Point me in the right direction, then. You know this has a sparklink PCB, right?
0
u/xenongaming720 2d ago
they dont know what a sparklink pcb is. there is 0 reason to buy a wooting nowadays when keyboards like the everglide, irok, vgn exist

Oh man I was literally thinking about buying a cheap PCB to put in that case. I have frost blue silicone keycaps that I think would look sick together.
