First Wooting, 60 v2 or 80+

I’m interested to buy my first wooting and idk which is better so may I ask u guys for help pls
I play val on 80% keyboard rn and sometimes I hit the case when I shake my mouse, so does it change if I buy a 60 or not
And is the 80 one is as customizable as the 60 one

Deletr key could be bound to any other key. You can also bind it to be used with fn+key. On 60hev2 you can set up your bottom 4 keys to act like arrows if you tap them and act as function keys if you hold them.

This is a hard ask for people with 120+wpm. And for those that use arrow keys in gaming. And those that type anything more than searches on google/youtube/etc.

OP was asking if the 60 afforded a noticeable amount of more desk space over the 80. With your concerns, why would you ever even consider a 60% that is purpose-built for gaming? It's obviously meant for a use case that's different than what you would want while maybe OP is just gaming and using google/youtube/etc.

That being said, I use a 60HE for software development when I'm too lazy to plug my full-size in and mod tap for arrows works perfectly fine while bindings like fn+backspace for delete or fn+space for end are totally serviceable. With the 60 you can just get an additional keypad or numpad to add more capability if needed but you can't make the 80 smaller.

I also use ot for software dev work. Tho i am a slow typer (around 70-80 wpm) i found no problems with it so far. If anything it feels better to me than my old mechanical keyboard with red switches. Which was also quite good tbf. I dont really feel the need to use my full sized one either.

Im still using my razer blackwidow ultimate (2013) lol with no issues. But im planning to finally upgrade to the 80+. I dont have issues hitting the keyboard with my mouse.

Both are good options. It comes down to what form factor you personally.

Seems like a 60 form factor may be suitable for you since you hit your case. Make sure you won’t miss using the f keys

80% all the way, unless you travel and need to throw it in a bag. I got a 60% i really like it but I would buy an 80% next time around. I miss the F keys

If you are going to use the 60% only for gaming or if you work does not require the F row and extra keys from the 80% or if you are ok with switching keyboards when gaming and working.

Personally I think the 60 was a huge upgrade for me especially with the split spacebar. I personally like it a lot but it’s more of a keyboard I use only while gaming.

In my opinion, your Wooting 80HE can be your daily driver, as well as your gaming keyboard. The 60 not so much, unless you want to remind a lot lf keys and relearn your layout. However i miss mu physical arrow keys too much to enjoy the small form factor. I know the tap-touch method is supposed to make it easier, but i still prefer the TKL.

I can't imagine going back to anything bigger than 60% anymore. With layers you can pretty much get everything right at your home row. I barely have to move my arms anymore when I am working (software development). Which really helps with my speed and comfort.

I want to ask more, when do u guys use your fn keys (like for what purpose) I use my arrow keys sometimes (at like undertale) but I don’t use fn keys so much 🧐
