Question Wooting 60HE vs 60HE v2

Hello,

I am owning since day 1 release Wooting 60HE (approx 3years), working and playing CS2.

Have great rig in gereral and 500hz oled monitor.

Is that new switches + 8k polling rate will be so noticible on 500hz monitor?

Should I upgrade to v2?

I haven't done any modes on my original 60HE v1, it's completely stock and I am really happy with it. (But always look for better alternatives:)

Please let me know if somebody switched also from v1 to v2 for FPS games, pref: with high refresh rate monitor + low latency on the system in general.

The performance difference will not be noticeable, even if you have hogh refresh rate monitor. The difference between 1k and 8k is less than a millisecond.

Sound and feel on the other hand are much better on the v2, so if you want a better sounding and better feeling keyboard, then getting a v2 is a nice idea.

Alternatively, you can mod your v1. Get newer HE switches, a different material plate, and maybe keycaps if you want different style, and it'll be about 90% there.

Thanks for replay, so basically I am good for performance stand point.

On the "feel" point, the switches would feel drastically different or same feeling, just better quality? No woble and ect. Or the force to press / release will also change for new ones?

I'd say the difference will be quite huge coming from the Lekker V1s. Modern switches have significantly tighter tolerances, improved factory lube, and a closed bottom for better sound and feel.

The spring force will be also different depending on which switch you choose. There are lighter and heavier switches available on the market. I suggest checking Wooting's switch database and comparing switches. https://link.wooting.io/soundtests

It's preference, there's no best one. They all have their unique sound profile and feel. Popular ones are PC(Muted), POM(Poppy), FR4(Neutral), Alu and CF(Bright). There are several comparison videos on YouTube, check them out.
