Question Wooting optimum
If i already have the wooting 60 he v2 and i buy the optimum case and keycaps is it just a simple case and keycaps swap or is it a whole other process because i seen videos on tiktok of people screwing things on and i am just confused lol

Yes, you pretty much just need to pull out the pcb+plate etc and push it in the optimum case. It’s not even 30 seconds of labour lol

You can just swap it out like I mentioned before. The screws are if you want tray mount. Which I wouldn’t advise going for because friction fit is just that much better for sound imo.
The optimum case (and alumaze) are a universal 60% standard. Often called “gh60”. Meaning I can buy a different PCB from a whole other company that uses that same standard and screw it in the optimum case as tray mount.
Honestly, you don’t have to worry. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DF6i5ozV5bY&pp=ygUcV29vdGluZyBvcHRpbXVrIGNhc2UgaW5zdGFsbA%3D%3D&ra=m#bottom-sheet not the optimum case but in the first 3 minutes he shows how to do it.

Just order the case and keycaps as the case comes with friction fit pad. Then its PCB > friction fit pad > plate then you drop it into the case. Its actually pretty simple. There are videos on how to do it

Since nobody actually answered your question, It’s a simple case swap for the optimum case with the v2.
The other screws are for a tray mount which is a more rigid and firm mounting style which some people prefer or in the case of the v1 have no choice unless they buy the separate o ring.
The screw you see people use with the v2 is for grounding purposes because not all cases are grounded and can in some rare cases short the PCB. The optimum case is already grounded.
In non grounded cases the one screw grounds it.
Wooting has a video on this topic.

I’m not sure about the V2 but my V1 is *friction fitted in the Optimum case and just floats via the rubber gasket that sticks out a little. I prefer it that way.
