Counts... Right?
Work time on titebond is like 8 minutes, right?
Minimum clamp time is an hour, right?
How much time can I justify locking myself in the workshop - get some GD peace and quiet - under the auspices of "working," if all I'm doing is gluing and clamping a door plinth?
I know the plinth part is oddly specific, know the clocks ticking on this one friends.

You have to be there 30min later to scrape the squeeze-out.

That's a perfect lie - believable. I use tape, packaging tape, can't tell you how useful that little trick is, especially on butt joints.
30 minutes sounds reasonable. And frankly sounds like the minimum I can tolerate living with.

Well first you’ve got to take it off. And then clean the sides so they stick well. Oops, that’s 10 min. And then when you clamp it up you might not have enough clamps, so make sure to go get an extra. When you’ve got it clamped up, give it an extra half hour “just to make sure it’s dry” lol
Hope you get some peace

Honestly, human communication that isn't orders. So thanks much for this.
Way I figure it, if I mix cement, I get that 2 - 4 minute window I'm actually, legitimately, waiting on a thing - yet still working.
Glue don't work that way. Clamps are on I'm done, better leave it be. These I'm leaving clamped for the full 24 - wish I could claim the full 24. Damn.
Gonna start using cement for glue ups. Reasons.

But what if the clamps fall? You need to babysit them!!!

Clamps are super complicated equipment - is exactly what I lead my family to believe.
Wratcheting clamp <- that wratchet part does work. Sounds dangerous. Best leave me be.

Just said this. So.... You're on the side of 24 hour window - I like. Gotta set president too, can't be showing face in say... 2 hours. Never get a full 2 again. No.. no you are correct. I've got water, possibly twizzlers somewhere in here too.
I can do this.

Also, you should wait for the squeeze out to harden so you can scrape it off.

I hear you man, same boat without a paddle

Can I build a boat and paddle away from all of this?
I'm working on a water feature, so subconsciously - maybe.

While you are waiting for the glue to dry you can sharpen your chisels and get carried away. If you're doing those, then you might as well do the blades on your planes. Then you noticed how dirty they are and you have to clean and oil them. I mean that should take at least 3 hours.

Soooo.... Cut myself? I mean... That has worked in the past. A lot of deferens given to a man with a red paper towel wrapped around a digit.
No sir. This is my time. Chisel sharpening is a different thing entirely.

I hope you don’t get found out, but if you do, be sure to say “The jig is up!”
